Yes and half of them were always hurt going up against the KD/Steph/Klay Warriors.

How can you possibly knock a guy for that?

Alvin is a good guy, no doubt liked by everyone he worked with. You can’t say he never got a fair shake at it either. Good luck to him in the future.

It’s clear they aren’t looking for an up and coming guy. They want guys with head coaching experience. That means they feel that the stakes are too high to take that risk.

Sounds like they aren’t planning to make a lot of changes to the roster and will be looking to continue to do this compete while we develop young talent moving forward.

Ty Lue personally. Not a strong enough personality to catch the attention of a room full of 19-25 year olds (for the most part)

Griff was on record saying the reason he hired Lue in Cleveland was because he needed someone to stand up to LeBron when need be.

Saying it’s the opposite isn’t any better

They both suck and I would be even more pissed off with hiring either of them than I was with the Gentry higher, which I hated from the get go.

I refuse to believe either of them are serious candidates.

Dan Woike of the LA Times reports: “league sources, including those familiar with the Nets and the Spurs, expecting Brooklyn to explore bringing the NBA’s biggest coaching name — Gregg Popovich — to the Nets’ sidelines.”

As I guessed all long, Nets are going for the moonshot.

Pelicans:

reported last week, two names expected to be in the search are Ty Lue and Jason Kidd.

Another name to watch - if the Nets don’t retain him - is Brooklyn’s Jacque Vaughn.

There's just no chance it's Jason Kidd here. Gayle wouldn't allow it based on Kidd's past. He's been a bad coach anyway.
Lue hasn't done anything without LeBron and based on his Lakers flirtations he overvalues himself. I'm not saying it's a definite no, I just think there's smarter less risky options.
Also, you are looking at assistant coaches on the two LA teams, who figure to be occupied for at least another month. Pels made this call relatively quick if their intention was to wait an entire month to fully interview their top 2 choices.
I think it's somebody else
