More to come but Pelicans interim GM Danny Ferry says AD will play the rest of the season but minutes down, Jrue will also see his minutes decrease. NBA made it clear he should play. Pels will give more mins to younger guys and potential FAs (Elfrid, Julius).

Also, Ferry said Mrs. Benson is committed to building a successful organization and commit the resources necessary to make that happen. Pels goal is to make a good environment the rest of the season.

Said this from the beginning, play him limited, sporadic minutes with no spacing. See how mich he is willing to hurt his stats before he shuts it down.

No reason to run Jrue into the ground either.

In other words, the shite show will continue...

Do Jrue and AD play fourth quarters? Crunch time?

After every close loss...why didn't AD or Jrue play down the stretch? What does that tell the rest of the players busting their asses for a win?

Also, this leads to me to believe Uncle Al has a very good chance to be back next year. He's doing the league and Pelicans the oddest solid ever by somehow trying to coach not to wins games, while still having all stars on the roster.

Gentry has to manage AD and Jrue's minutes in a way that doesn't give us the best chance to win.

Needless to say, Danny Ferry speaking publicly has given some clarity on the situation and is a voice for the organization beside Alvin Gentry. He was measured in his response and is trying to work through an unprecedentedly bizarre and difficult position.

At least Ferry is saying what we are all thinking.

I don’t want Davis out there wasting everyone’s time when we can see what Randle, Jah, Elfrid, etc, are capable of.

Which we need. Because as of now I don’t see picking up Johnson’s QO.

Jackson likely gets his option exercised because he is cheap and has potential.

Less sure about Diallo being worth more than a replacement level big man given the current glut of them in the league.

Better to figure that out now than to prove it wrong by giving him another contract.

Do they even need to give him another contract?
He is on a QO, so if nobody outbids his QO he can be here for one more season no?

The idea is that you can decline the QO if you don’t think they can beat it on the open market.

I seem to recall that we declined Marco Belinelli’s QO then resigned him for less than the QO amount that same offseason.

So it's not illegal for the GM to talk during the season?

Just curious...new here.

Did you guys root for CP3 the next year when he left and we were bad? Were you rooting for or against the Clippers in the playoffs? I personally rooted for him and had no hard feelings. Same with David West in Indy. But I cant see any scenario where I root for AD in the future.

I rooted against CP3 because of the endless drama regarding his exit, complete with the hints being dropped a year before it happened about how he wanted to be on a super team with his buddies like Carmelo.

West? I cheered for him with the Pacers and the Warriors because he was always class and his exit was due to the reality that we couldn’t justify a contract on a guy with one wheel as we were looking at a CP3 exit.

No one on our team has been presented with a qualifying offer. We can offer one to Johnson next season (unlikely), give him a new contract (even more unlikely), or let him walk (most likely).
