So much of the NBA and its outcome is luck based. Which is why I shake my head when people try to act like they KNOW who is a great coach, a great GM, a great POBO candidate, etc.

You name any "bad" team and I will show you bad luck. Any "great" team and I will show you how they got extremely lucky. LIke Dwight Howard spurning the Warriors and instead going to Houston. Don't get me wrong, some of it is skill and intelligence, but people look far too much at outcome and judge retroactively, when a lot of outcome is luck based.
Is he gone yet?

Geez, I could see why y'all don't like him. What a douche
Should be announced later this week - Hinkie will oversee basketball operations and Rosas will be the GM. Brand new analytics staff brought in. Total cleaning of house. Coach will be someone who embraces analytics and a style of play similar to Rockets. Exciting times!!
They have the Bulls and Knicks on the schedule.

Pels winning any more games would be beyond stupid. 7th is there for the taking with an outside shot at 6th. But Charlotte looked terrible tonight. Losing that game will be the biggest challenge

With Miller and Moore out, this team has zero outside shooting. If a team puts up any level of resistance can in the paint, this offense is putrid.

Here's hoping for the tanks sake

Charlotte game will be tough to lose. They got at GS tonight, then at Utah tomorrow night. We will be their third road game in 4 nights and they will probably be eliminated by then.

Warriors and Kings should be losses. And at Phoenix - they will have more talent on the floor and be at home. I'd give us a 50% chance of losing out. 95% chance of winning 0 or 1.
A loss today would essentially guarantee no worse than 9th. Memphis and Dallas play each other twice. Washington has NY and Chicago left on schedule

Find a way to lose out and 7th is ours. Maybe a tie for 6th

You expect Irving to give anyone a firm answer or even know himself on June 20th?

Whoever trades for AD is going to have to do so without knowing how July will play out and they also won't get 100 percent assurance AD will stay more than one season.

But to get a guy that caliber, you gotta take that risk or someone else will and they you definitely won't get him

A contradiction is when a person says one thing that runs directly opposite to something they said in that same breathe.

A person changing their mind as facts change over time is not a contradiction. But I am sure you are smart enough to know that

Definitely lower. Maybe Demarre Carroll? A 3/4 who can do everything at an above average level but nothing great.

But Carroll had to scrap to even make rosters and was a blue collar star as a result. Knox might have to fail for a few years until reality hits. Kind of like Jah. Skill wise, I don't see anything exceptional with Knox. I think some teams just fell in love with his physical profile as the draft got closer

I don't think positions exist any more. I think skill sets do. Not all "4's" are the same. Some are rim runners and garbage men some are mid range guys who can also dish out of the high post, some are stretch guys. Some can guard up to the 5 position, while others can guard down or are very comfortable in space on D.

It should be about grabbing the skill sets you need for your system and that compliment your best players and/or long term pieces.

So, you wouldn't take Zion and Bruno Fernando. But Zion and Bol Bol could make some sense. Skill sets, not "positions"
George in his second and third year played with a ton of passion and was a monster on D. Thats when Lebron gave him dap at half court. That kid was something special.

At best, Tatum might be Granger. Which aint bad, but that's the ceiling IMO

Those guys wouldn't impact the game this year, therefore shouldn't effect Randle decision.

If we resign Randle, it should be to a one or two year deal that allows you to move him down the line. Not a four year deal where he is a foundation piece.

You grab BPA at any/every pick. With no thought of position and who you have at that position currently. Because in all likelihood, these guys won't be good for 2-3 years any way and nobody on this current roster will still be here in 3 years, with the exception of maybe Jrue
Even in games when Kyrie is out, I see Brown being more assertive than Tatum.

It's nice to have Kyrie as a scapegoat but the reality is that this is just who Tatum is. A real future star wouldn't be this passive. And even if he wasn't getting a bunch of shots, he would find a way to impact the game in other ways. Think of Kobe at that age. He had Shaq and other good players like Eddie Jones on his team but he gave zero fricks and still asserted himself. Same with D Wade as a rookie. Almost every elite guy you can think of. Just tells me Tatum won't be that. But of course he can still be good. Just not elite.

Don't waste your time looking at mock drafts. Anywhere.

Study the prospects. The order is not known yet and most of those sites don't really care about team need.

Just study the prospects.

I have probably watched 80% of Celtics games since January and he just seems like a beta with an okay iso and catch and shoot game. Solid defender, but no shut down ability. Like a slightly better Harrison Barnes in Golden State. Could be a decent 4th piece on a contender, but honestly I don't see anything more than that. I don't even see flashes of exceptionalism. Honestly, Jaylen Brown shows far more passion, fire, and flashes of ability to change a game.

Okeke would have been a top 12 pick if he stayed healthy and went through testing. I would take him with the Clippers or Celtics pick and redshirt him.

PJ Washington could be a very good player if he ever developed a 3. Only guys from either team I want.
Ask this question on May 16th. We will know then

Not even close. That one stinks.

Tankathon and Draftsite are both far better than NBA Draft dot net
