Not a big Alvin fan like a lot of you, but I 100% applaud Alvin for this. AD doesn't want to be here, so he should be dead to everyone. Good for Alvin ignoring that quitter and sticking up for the team.

Just a question, why was AD even on the sideline? Since he made it clear he wants nothing to do with us, why would this team even consider having this guy around them when he would be nothing but a distraction?

Honestly frick Gentry and demps AD asking for a trade is the best of both worlds. We get a fresh start
And get rid of the dead weight.

AD gonna have remorse once he gets to LA and sees the trash he has to play with. If they Pelicans have success with whatever pieces they end up with AD will have regret. I think he really does love the team and city but he was influenced by Lebron and Rich Paul.

Then he is weak minded. frick LA anyway, Pelicans shouldn't trade him there no matter what.

I read all of the responses to this thread before watching the video, and I have to say that I don’t see what everyone clearly wants to see.

I honestly think Gentry just missed AD because he was in a suit and not a jersey. AD did seem to be the one causing whatever awkwardness there was to this interaction. This is the time period when everyone will be the most on edge about what's happened, but it really makes me wonder if he's actually going to be able to come back to the team and play another 30 something games.

He's like the coworker that slipped and fell on the floor he was mopping and the lawsuit over it from a sketchy lawyer his even sketchier friend hooked him up with is costing the company so much money several of his former friends are getting laid off.

He's done some real damage here by letting himself be used by LeBron during the season. I don't want to see them ruin the tank, but I'd love to see them win 4 or 5 straight without AD and then tell AD he should go to his home in LA and start packing for Boston.

Yea. I get fans want him to be all mad at AD but people itt are reaching big time.

If Alvin was all pissed at AD he would have sent him home. If the rest of the team was all pissed at AD the Pelicans would have sent him home.

They're all friends. Davis asking to be traded is business. Not personal.

Fwiw I believe the Pelicans should send him home. Once he requested a trade I think his public appearances as a pelican should be over.

I don't think Alvin was pissed at AD, I think AD was pissed at Alvin for an incorrectly perceived slight. There was definitely a stronger than normal separation involved and Clark got involved. I don't think it's nothing I just think AD is the source of the awkwardness.

That's your view and that's fine, but I really don't see shite in that video.

Reminds me of the time ad and Alvin exchanged words with cousins after the gs game. Everyone speculating that they told cousins off. In reality they were just saying hello to a former co worker and still friend

He may not be screaming mad at him, but anyone who thinks he isn't the least bit upset by the situation is being extremely naive. These guys are all human

You've never given a friend the cold shoulder after he does something that puts you in a bad situation?

He should. He made himself clear, he doesn't want to be a part of this team.

To me, that means win or lose why does it matter? You're not a part of this. You're not a pelican. You don't get to enjoy the wins or the pain of a loss while our guys are out there playing their arse off for the pelicans.

It'd be different if he was honest about waiting to decide in the offseason to stay or not. But he and Lebron has made it clear and this team should too

my god some of you are such pussies

AD is telling his teammates and coaches that he doesn't think they're good enough. shamelesspel said it well, it's not like they're in the locker room giving him pats on the back for wanting to play with lebron.

AD took all the players out to dinner Monday night before the game. They’re not just gonna shun him, and I think the majority of them understand it’s a business.

Isn't that what everyone thinks anyway?

We suck. Our coaching sucks and our players don't play well as a team and generally have no idea how to win a close game this year (davis included). Every now and then we put it together for a game or so but we're basically out of the playoffs once again before February.

Facts are facts and the fact is, our team sucks.

How long before we have people in this thread calling them pussies for accepting the invite?

Not really. It hasn't been a year of good fortune and AD's health has been no different. We have lots of talent surrounding a "top 3 player in the league". Jrue, Niko, Randle mostly among other nice pieces of Payton, Moore etc.

I think normally players understand it's a business, but doing this now is going to make it awkward like the Melodrama that dragged on in Denver. Hopefully the story dies down after the trade deadline passes and they can be business as usual the rest of the time, but I have a feeling that won't happen.
