I really disagree but we will see I guess.
having lebrons team look after his business should be good for AD
whether it’s bad for the pels depends on if they do their part, which is the case no matter what

When will his trade value be highest? This year or next?

After he signs a SuperMax and he’s locked in.

wonder if this is about Kawhi Leonard not getting the Supermax. It’s inconceivable to me that the Pels wouldn’t give AD every penny they legally could, but I think Leonard not getting it surprised a lot of people.
I doubt AD wants to leave as much as he wants to make sure he gets paid.
Especially being that he missed out on his first major extension. If he really wanted out in the future, wouldn't it make more sense to sign the supermax and then some time after force a trade?
There is no way he turns down what will probably be the richest contract in league history. These players have egos and that has to be important to him, right?

Welp.
You don't hire Lebron's buddy to help you re-up in New Orleans
This sucks, but I think he reups first. Then, they make a play for Los Angeles Lakers if it doesn't work out here.
That's too much money to turn away from and AD doesn't need LeBron to win as much as LeBron needs AD right now.

According to this AD made $9 million in Endorsments this year. LINK / No wonder he switched agents. He should at least be making more than Dame and Giannis.
2018 Endorsements
LeBron $52
Curry $42
KD $33
Harden $20
Westbrook $19
Lillard $14
Giannis $13
AD $9
Melo $7
Blake $6

Leonard never gave San Antonio the chance to offer it.. SA would've given him the supermax in a heartbeat
I don’t think this is true.

if they’d known he was 100% healthy and 100% committed to th spurs they’d hav given it to him. He made it difficult to get assurances on both and that’s why they traded him instead
that’s reasonable due diligence by the spurs for that kind of contract.
unless Davis gets a major injury AND starts hinting he wants out, the situations are not comparable. This is much more like wall and the wizards or westbrook and OKC. The team wants to pay it and the player wants to sign it (for now anyway).

also, kahwi Leonard is a frothing retard for working his way out of that deal. It’s almost incomprehensible

Going out there and winning 48-50 games and playing an exciting brand of basketball that has AD as an MVP frontrunner should go a long way towards him signing that supermax.

If he doesn't want to resign, the Pelicans better not do a sign and trade so he gets the super max.

How does that whole sign and trade a supermax player work
I'd love for AD to stay and retire a Pelican. But with the way the league is today, unless your small market teams can win more consistently, the Superstars will always go to the large market.

Thats not possible. But people who really know the NBA would know that.
Why don't you guys just ask questions to the smarter people, who know more, on this board....instead of worrying or speculating?
Or is it more fun to speculate and panic?

That has nothing to do with being in a big or small market either..
AD has worldwide name recognition, he could go play for a new team based in Houma, and he would still take in millions in endorsements...
Him making less in endorsements than Giannis and Westbrook means either he doesnt really want them, or his agent wasnt working to get them

I don't know about that.
I live in Melbourne, Australia and there is no Pelicans merchandise or Anthony Davis stuff.
Even in Toronto there is nothing.
That is rediclous when you are talking about a top 5 player in the NBA.

WHats scary about those endorsement numbers is the fact that Lebron could easily sell AD on 25+ a year in LA and covering the gap in lost income. Again though, that depends on being healthy moving forward. Supermax is immune to those types of variables.

And that's more than likely the reason he changed agents.. You cant say his endorsements arent that much because of a small market when Giannis and Westbrook are also in small markets
