Although Davis has said publicly that he has no regrets with how things unfolded, sources said he personally apologized to Pelicans owner Gayle Benson in the aftermath of the imbroglio. So clearly he’s feeling some sort of remorse.

Anthony Davis, Rich Paul lit the torch for the Pelicans’ ‘dumpster fire’

Gayle is a classy owner. Players respect her that know her. national media is a fricking embarrassment.

This sounds like some horseshite that Davis and/or Rich Paul would put out to continue AD's boyscout/nice-guy routine..

what I don't understand is -- why is he so hell bent on painting himself in a good light? whats to gain from that?

My feelings toward AD aside, it's a commendable thing to do, I'll say that.

But for it to mean much to me I would like to see Davis start doing the right thing in practice going forward.

Like not leveraging the unfair practices of the NBA to force himself into the line up for his own selfish reasons at the expense of our locker room and the long-term needs of our franchise. To insist to Klutch that these underhanded tactics need to stop. Because the MRI stunt last night throws a lot of cold water on that supposed goodwill gesture that presumably happened prior to last nights disgraceful bullshite.

He looks real bad for leaving the game, even former players called him out. Gotta do damage control for that one

Who cares?

Davis was the one who deferred to Rich Paul to do the dirty work because he was too passive to Jimmy Butler his way out.

Just because he isn’t the one directly flinging shite everywhere doesn’t mean it isn’t his fault.

Because it's probably not horseshite. He's a genuinely nice person, I remember a report from when Russ Smith was a rookie and he was over watching film with AD while AD was coloring in a Sponge Bob coloring book. AD is a naive person that is being used by Lebron. He doesn't get a pass for that but it's not like he's been bad all along and is just now showing his dark side.

Gayle's reply to AD: "Ohhhh it's okay, Tony. You can't help being beta."

Kind of like intentionally kicking someone square in the balls and then apologizing for how it “unfolded.”

You would think that he has to regret making that move at this point right? Dude had maybe the best reputation in the league as far as just being a really good dude. He's coming pretty close to throwing all of that away.

AD has to let this play out. The Lakers aren't 100% out of it. A worst case scenario of no Tatum from Boston or Zion from New York could put the Lakers in play if they can flip Lonzo for say pick #3 from Phoenix.

I do think that if he ends up getting traded anywhere but the Lakers he needs to find a new agent.

It really doesn’t matter how Davis acts. The fans of the Lakers, Knicks, or Celtics wouldn’t care.

Could that be AD doing (or trying to do) the organization a solid by removing himself from not just the game but the entire building?

The rationale would be that this was planned and orchestrated so that the Pels wouldn't be forced by the league to play him.

I have no source, but the guy who does has used the word "orchestrated" multiple times to describe the Dell firing, and if I read it correctly, the shenanigans last night too.

I'm just spitballing here. Any validity to this theory or am I off-base here?

Flip Lonzo Ball for the #3 pick from Phoenix? Why on earth would the Subs be that stupid to take on that headache?
