Nurkic is just as injury prone as BI, and has 3 years left on his contract. Not just no, but hell no.

Well I guess it's a good thing the Pelicans are only 1.6-1.7mil over the line at the moment.
Kira's contract will be prorated going into the season and will not cost the team trading for him the full 5.7 mil he's due for. Which makes trading him much easier as they get closer to the deadline. It's a much better route than using assets to trade him now. The Pelicans shouldn't be in any rush to be honest.

Worst comes to worst, we stretch Kira.
$5.7m cap hit / 3 = $1.9m a season for three seasons.
The entire point of doing this, if it happens, is to sneak under the line so that our tax status doesn’t start until the 24-25 season.

My hope is that we can get Nurkic and dump Kira when Dame gets traded, but that’s just a pipe dream.
We getting a pick back for this?
Nurc is seen as a bad contract.

Latest from Woj:
Portland is not in a rush, they will look around the league all summer to find the best deal possible before they settle for what Miami has to offer.

That would be true for every player. I just looked at the available FA guards. There are a dozen of them I would take over Lewis, if I needed a guard. Almost everybody is full.
So why is anybody giving up anything, even phantom picks? Lewis isn't a rotational player at this point and he's expensive..

I have no clue why the team picked up his 5.7 million dollar option, he hasn't shown any potential to live up to that.
Posted on 7/6/23 at 3:40 pm to brmark70816
His prorated price isn't expensive. He's an expiring contract with untapped potential that's stuck in a logjam. Teams taking a flyer on him cost almost nothing and there's literally no commitment. And if he plays well, they have his rights.
You clearly don't want to see it. So there's no point arguing with you about it.

pretty sure they had to do that last year, and he was coming off injury. There was really no reason not to.
and yes there are plenty of other guards out there that we can get for minimum contracts that are better.
Hoping Seabron is that person.

Don’t you dare act like I couldn’t airplay that league pass shite to my 75 Inch TV and get an extremely close look, brotha
When you got guys like Hali dropping to #12 in a draft (he was my #1 prospect) and Sengun dropping to #16 (he was my #3 prospect), yeah brotha I think I know some ball better than a few GM’s. I’ve broken bread with Dell Demps, Brotha.
I obviously don’t know Bol Bol. It could be an attitude problem. Play wise and skill set wise, he’s 100% worth $2-$3M to the Pelicans. Slide him into the Jaxson Hayes roster spot.

Why? Tell Dame to kick rocks and play out his contract. No one forced him to sign that max last summer
If he wants to be traded fine, but they should be able to ship him to the highest bidder. You’re not a FA and they can’t really offer anything that should net then a player like him. I thought AD’s play was bad but this is worse

Weren't you the one OBSESSED with Collin Sexton, acting like he was going to be some superstar?
Posted on 7/6/23 at 5:05 pm to Baron
Might be thinking about me. I started a thread or 2 wanting to trade for him. He shot 39% from 3pt last year and averaged 14pts on 24 minutes coming off a bad injury.
I still would have liked him over CJ knowing the situation we are in right now. Sexton at 17mil vs CJ at 35mil…..
I knew he was going to get 20mil or less coming off that injury. Injured after 20pt and 24pt seasons his 2nd/ 3rd year. He can easily be one of the best contracts in the NBA at 17mil the next 3 years.

Good deal for Atlanta, I expected he would get a max for his next deal

I'm going to need you to explain this to me like I'm a child. How is it different from any other player?
I get that during the season it goes down as the season progresses. But so does everyone elses. If you sign a FA halfway through, you pay them for half the season. That doesn't make Lewis cheaper.

I have been pretty clear with what I said. There are better, cheaper players available as FAs. It makes no sense for other teams to give up assets to trade for him. I believe we will have to give up stuff to move him or ride him out one more year. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see any team running to bail us out..

With Temple release, Zeller signing and EJ signing, we are 1.7 million above the tax per Spotrac.

Shut the hell up about Sengun. We all know you like him ok dude. Every possible chance you bring his name up its weird. Doesnt even make sense anyway. He will be an average starter at best.
