Thank God we didn't get Dinwiddie

That's not great for our Lakers pick. Now we need Uncle Al to coach his arse off.

Washington didn't have a chance of catching the Lakers in any case. They are the opposite of us: started out hot and have massively declined since.
Our hopes of the Lakers pick reside on the Kings and Knicks.

Well cuz rondo is a scuzzy player.. He's always angry pissed off and how many times has he been laying on the ground in the scramble and kicking someone in the leg or taking a cheap shot?. Just look at his face. He's angry all the time just looking for a moment to take it out on someone. But yeah. ??

Wow, that would be a pretty big blockbuster

Hope it happens. I put one of my many $50 free bets on the Sixers to win the championship yesterday when this started. Philly +1300
Nets are +350
I would think those odds will change if this trade happens.

It sounds like rival teams think a deal between Brooklyn and Philadelphia may be getting close. One team told me "They've kind of put other talks on hold. If that deal finally happens, then the floodgates will open around the league for a lot more to happen."

It could start an arms race!

Yup, tou could see players flying around everywhere, likely for an inflated price.
It was probably smart to pull the trigger on the trade yesterday before anyone else could jump in and offer more.

Besides CJ’s inflates salary….we really came away in good shape yesterday.
And in the next year if you still need to make changes….there are leftover draft picks, salaries from Nance, Graham, Jonas, Temple, and young assets like Kira & Jaxson to use for a bigger trade if necessary.

Jake Madison said today that we are absolutely still making and taking calls.
I don't think that we make any more big moves, but I can see us trying to upgrade the Gary Clark roster spot.

The roster really could use another SG after trading both Hart and Naw. Preferably one that can start now but move to the bench later for Zion. There are a ton of guys I like, ala, Huerter, KCP and those types. But even their modest salaries become very difficult to deal for now that our trade has been completed. We can’t repackage those players, and we used part of our TPE. Curious what they do.

After reading my own post, it occurred to me our new guys just can’t be packaged. But a Nance for KCP trade is possible straight up (with pick or whatever). Moving Nance might be our most viable option to add a 2 guard if we wanted.

We are only a few mill below the tax and we are not paying the tax.
Plus, one would assume that when the deadline passes at some point we are going to convert Jose from a 2 way to main roster, so we need to save some money for that.
So you would imagine guys like Naji, Temple etc would need to go out to shed some salary in any deal.

If we could pull off say a Nance out, Huerter in, then we would save about 6 million.
We could convert Jose, or stand pat and see what shakes loose in the buyout market and use our 7 million we have left of the TPE to our advantage to smag someone.

Yes, Jake Madison pointed out today that two-way players can't play in the postseason. So, it's not just a matter of doing the right thing by Jose and locking him up for the long term. It's also about making sure that he can play in the play-in game.
