I got news for you bub, the vast majority of TPE's go unused.

But i agree with you. we literally set ourselves up to use it this year by not using the MLE and keeping more than enough room under the tax to absorb someone into that TPE. Not adding a quality role player via the MLE or the TPE this year would yet another stupid move by our idiot GM.

Most trade exceptions end up expiring. Every trade year is different, but it's a rarity that teams actually use them. So don't be shocked if he doesn't use it, especially if he's trying to move Sato and maybe Didi to free up roster spots.

You can't combine the trade exception with anything else. The player salary you're trading for has to fit into the exception + $100k or you can't use it.

How good does this make the Clippers? If they get George and Leonard back for the playoffs, that team is loaded.

Jackson/Mann
George/Kenard
Leonard/Powell
Morris/Covington
Zubac/Ibaka

That's a Finals team, if they can get healthy..

I don’t think he will, but I also don’t think it will be for anything particularly sexy or before the trade deadline. I think it’ll be a salary dump move in the off-season like a Larry Nance or Maxi Kleber for a couple of 2nds.

I think it’s the Sato expiring that has us as being considered by all the writers as “aggressive buyers.” I don’t see how Sato doesn’t get moved for at least something small. Sato + Hart + Hayes can match a lot of player’s salaries, so of course we are going to be calling nearly every team.

It’s bad enough the one the Grizz could get might be pretty good. The last one we have better be untouchable. We get two years to see what it could do.

So it sounds like there is multi-team bidding on Fox. Windhorst mentioned the Knicks having interest possibly with a Julius Randle package.

I also would imagine CJ won't be as cheap as RoCo/Powell since that trade got the Blazers out of the Tax.

I aint complaining. Thats about as good a team as we will ever get without winning anything.

That's been my argument about Fox.

In the thread specifically about him, I kept asking who is a better option and nobody shitting on the move could tell me. At best they came up with SGA

One of the best things that could happen for us would be Fox starting trouble with the Kings and trying to force a trade.

I just saw Randle stopped following the Knicks. Social media follows usually mean nothing, but the Knicks were another team reportedly interested in Fox.

Randle + Picks vs. Hart + Picks, I think the Knicks beat the Pels in that situation depending on the picks.

If they view the trades as equal then they might give him the option to choose his destination.

Only Knicks fans think Julius Randle is actually good.

Cool he had a good season last year. He hasn't done shite this year.

You're correct in the Kings likely thinking but I'd 100% take Hart and his contract any day over Randle and his. Randle is just not a very good basketball player.
