We are gonna give up multiple firsts and young players for Fox and his 25% 3p shooting arent we?
Honestly wouldn't be mad. Outside of Herb, none of our young players are worth shite, so giving them up wouldn't bother me at all.

If that’s all you can get for Norman Powell, I can’t imagine what the Buddy Hield market looks like
Good point from a Kings writer.

They're gonna have to pay somebody to take Buddy.

Yeah, but not to pay someone 35 million that can't hit threes and so far in his career struggles to play nice unless he is dominating the ball and the team flows through him.

I mean I hate to say it, but there is a world this is the Jarrett Allen trade and no other deals come close to being steals like the Allen/Powell trade.

....hopefully not, but we'll see

I feel like Fox could work here, but literally all of the other players on our roster besides he and Zion would need to be 36-40% 3 point shooters

Agreed

I get questioning the fit, but thinking we shouldn't trade for Fox if it's any more value than what Powell went for is a bit much.

for gods sake we are sitting here with two TPE's, one huge, and we couldn't facilitate a trade for Powell to get them way out of the tax?

I mean if the GM doesnt want him, then no. Kind of impossible to say. We all know that we could have put together a better package, so I just dont think we tried. Which I'm fine with.

I think it's clear that we really don't want to win this year at this point even though we are close to the play in game, which I'm ok with.

If they know Zion is coming back, then yea, lets make deals. If they know he's not (which I think they know but just aren't saying), then don't deal. Ride it out.

which is why Sexton is attractive to us

I dont really have an opinion on him yet. I know last year he was getting hit hard on here for lack of passing/ball hog tendencies.

If Fox can be had for bad players, our least promising young guy and seconds, by all means, I'll take on the Fox experiment, preferably in the offseason, but if not, sure.

But can't imagine that will be the case.

I mean to match salaries it would have to be Hart + Sato + whatever.

The whatever is what people will melt or not melt over.

firsts and additional players is where I draw the line....and I have a strong suspicion Griff is gonna leap past it

I'll just put it here.

The NBA has released expected cap and luxury amounts for next year at $121m & $147m

I mean Hart + Sato + Didi + 1st works (even without the first)

But I sincerely doubt Sac is letting him go for that lol.

They are 1-8 without him in the lineup.

Yeah Fox is still a really good player. His 3ball being awful this year is a little concerning but I think it’s more of an outlier. But that’s the gamble.

I bet teams were waiting for this info before they start finalizing deals. Hopefully we continue too see a steady flow of trade info going into the weekend.

At least it would make this team more entertaining.

Might be a bad fit but you can't tell me Zion- BI- Fox wouldn't be a fun to watch.

100%

And if we all prayed to the NBA Gods that TM3 develops + JV and Herb ( )

I aint complaining. Thats about as good a team as we will ever get without winning anything.

People forget, FA's actually have to want to come to NOLA

If Griff lets the trade exception expire, he should be run out of town by an angry mob. You don't have to get a superstar, but it shouldn't be that hard to find an upgrade to this team using the trade exception, Sato's expiring salary and some 2nds.

Little warning. I remember very clearly a time where I thought to myself, man, give us Bledsoe and Jrue Holiday and good luck. I’ll take my chances. This was before Bledsoe was traded to the Bucks. And he turned into an over paid small guard who couldn’t shoot. I really don’t think that will be Fox but still

nobody forgot. Massive overpay is the only way, so that takes you out of the running for the best players that are getting max contracts no matter where they go.
