Graham specifically mentioned that he was fine with coming off the bench, whatever was needed, so sounds like it was discussed that his role is flexible.

That's always been Graham's mentally even when he was in Charlotte. He's a guy that's very easy to deal with and will buy into anything that they'll ask him to do.

Very well put!
We need shooting so load up and make teams pay for swarming zion. Seemed like nobody wanted to come here so you gotta make people want to actually make this place a destination.
Buddy is a hard worker and not a guy who is going to be a distraction or get into any bullshite

Very much liked what I heard from Graham.
Though also looks like he didn’t work out with Ingram.
Said he worked out with NAW and looks forward to working out with others.

Ehhhh. He’s been pretty vocally pissed off about his role in Sac

This is kinda the type of guy the Pels will have to go after..
Overpaid, but on a descending contract
Burned by his former team
Chip on his shoulder after being benched
Might be ready to take whatever minutes he's given and prove to the Kings that they fricked up.. and who knows, maybe some of the bigger red flags against him (defense) have more to do with his being unhappy with the Kings more so than his inability to defend.
the other obvious question is -- is he pissed about us trading him the first time?

After this offseason where Griff was told no by everyone,
Who said no?
Did Doug McDermott say no?
Did JaMychal Green say no?
Did Jeff Green say no?
Did Zach Collins say no?
Did Otto Porter say no?
Did Rudy Gay say no?
Did Bobby Portis say no?
Did Mike Muscala say no?
Did Bjelica say no?
Did we have a conversation with any of them?
oh 3 pie in the sky guys that had ZERO intention of changing their mind signed with the teams they wanted to instead of us, and we view that as no one wants to come here.

I agree mostly with that, but i still don't like having Buddy under contract for 3 more years at $20M/yr average. Not so much i don't want what he brings, b/c i absolutely do, but I don't want the hindering his contract brings to improving the team

yeah i know, i just dont' like it being 3 years left, but i guess it really doesn't matter. We arent' signing any big name FA so the only way to bring someone in is via trade.

I'm more concerned with how much of an asset either Buddy or Hart is at trade deadline.
Buddy is more movable right? I feel like he'll have a little eff you in him and shoot very well.

Really depends what Hart signs for. If he plays under the QO I don't think we can trade him. It would have to be a preferred destination for him, and unless it's a team needing him for a playoff push I don't think you would get assets as they could just sign him as a UFA in the offseason.

all correct.
hart on the QO is not getting traded, and he's as good as gone next year anyway

I see what you are saying, and it’s vaild, but considering Griff offered THJ 4 yr 90 mil, he personally probably isn’t all that worried about a decreasing from year to year 3 yr 60 mil to Hield.

I think what i hesitate more with Hield with is his attitude, coupled with his contract. I would without a doubt not trade for him unless i had a serious sitdown with him and gauged his interest in this organization, and his interest in doing whatever it takes to help us, whether as a starter or a bench player, even though i'm sure he'd play 30mpg regardless.
Is he going to be happy to come back to the team that drafted him, or is he pissed at us? Is he ok with not starting, b/c we have a new team and we aren't sure yet what's the ideal lineup between Graham/Kira/NAW/Buddy at the 1 and 2, assuming he was in that mix. you've got 3 guys that could be the PG there, 2 that can be the SG and if NAW is the PG, then maybe you'd rather start Naji or Murphy if they really take a big step forward. Trot out NAW/BI/Murphy/Zion/JV. To me, that's probably the best lineup, and i know it's way too early to talk about Murphy being a starter, but if he can handle it defensively, his job on offense is very simple as a starter. The bigger question is can he handle the defensive part of that lineup, b/c he'd be asked to take on the best wing player from the other team most nights, and that's the part i don't think he'd be ready for.

Why would he be pissed at “us”? The person who traded him away is no longer with the organization
Posted on 8/11/21 at 4:30 pm to TeddyPadillac
It's simple. Buddy is the shooter he is because he's irrationally confident. That means he thinks he's a starter.
If you're not starting him you better be winning. I don't see why he wouldn't start for the Pels though. You want him spacing for the starters more than scoring off the bench.

buddy would play 40 minutes for this team as currently built

No interest in Luke Kennard at all? I know the Clippers want to move him. He can shoot and could platoon with NAW. He is a Duke guy, like Ingram and Zion..
