Yeah. Or we make a trade by tomorrow to fold it into the Memphis deal. I still think that a trade (also involving Josh Hart) to Utah for Bojan or with SAC for Hield is more likely.

Reggie Jackson is probably the best target in FA left that's realistic right?

The Pels can only offer MLE money or using S&T the same amount because the Clippers only have his Early Bird Rights. But you have to ask if that amount was enough to get Jackson, why wouldn't the Clippers just keep him, and why wouldn't he want to stay there?

I'm not sure I'd call it realistic unless you can say why we beat the Clippers out for him. I haven't closely followed the Clippers this week, maybe they made some moves that make him expendable?

If we have a bunch of high character guys and a lot of them can’t wait to leave, what does that say about the work environment that culture boi Griff has created so far?

This is the truth. When no one wants to play for you, you have to admit it’s you. Even with Green who is universally beloved it seems. Griffin has a bad reputation around the league. We went after every big named free agent and they all took less money to not go to Pelicans. You can’t convince me that with a different GM we couldn’t get option F. He needs to be gone.

He could be a good get for our bench i think. I remember hit some ballsy threes against us and hustled on defense.

I haven’t seen anything that makes me think that we’d beat them out due to moves, it would have to be strictly due to money, and the only way I see that happening is if we send out someone like Satoransky, into a TPE or into space without taking anything back. And we don’t add anything else to the Memphis trade. If we do those 2 things and renounce Hart we’d have about 20 mil in cap space (obviously we don’t have to use it on all him).

I hope that isn’t the plan, but that’s the only way I see us as a possibility.

I've only seen reports that we offered 3 guys a deal and 2 of them was pie in the sky dreams. We were never going to beat out Miami for Kyle and CP3 is trying to win a ring why would he leave a team that just went to the Finals when they gave him top money.

Even THJ was pie in the sky. For him it's not even a lateral move, it's a negative move because the Mavs are pretty clearly a middle tier playoff team. For the Pels to get into that same area, where it would be a lateral move for THJ, it's because Zion takes a step he hasn't taken yet, not because THJ elevated the team to middle tier status.

WE all believe Zion is going to take that step, but why would THJ bet the next 4 years of his career on that?

Well he’s certainly available

ETA: I think his ban actually is supposed to be up this year. Hopefully he picked the right week to stop sniffing glue

Veteran free agent forward Kelly Oubre is in discussions with the Charlotte Hornets, per sources. There’s no agreement tonight, but talks are ongoing. Could be a good fit with a young, athletic Hornets team. Averaged 15.4 ppg for the Warriors last season.

It certainly is interesting that the Hornets are going after both Markkanen and Oubre.

Does this mean that one of Bridges or Washington will be on the move?

I think that would mean Charlotte is out on Lauri. I actually like the fit of Oubre in Charlotte.

Maybe so. I actually wouldn't hate just taking Markkanen on the Randle special. Would provide exactly what we need at the 4...can close with him too if need be. Still want Buddy in that situation.

I’ve said a few times I’d be in on Lauri at the right price. Honestly think he’d be a decent fit.

I honestly doubt we will pull many good free agents next year with our cap space….

I’m in favor of sending Josh Hart, Kira, seconds, and mayyybe a protected first for Sexton and Love. Cleveland likely won’t get much better options than that.

Kevin stays on our books this year, and in the offseason we use the rest of our draft capital to bring in someone via trade and use his salary to match.

Might as well make something happen while we can:

With his market dwindling maybe he'd take the 1+1 MLE with us to jump back into the market next year. Wouldn't hate it. Don't think he wants to stay in Chicago. Again, fills a need.

7 footer that shoots 40 from 3 and 80+ from the stripe. He won’t give a whole lot else but I feel like that could be useful given the nature of our team.

I could see them wanting a more rugged player though.

I think that player is very useful in our lineup.

Can pair him with Zion and/or Jaxson to maximize what he does best. I'm OK with that.
