WHo did i list you don't agree is good?
Honestly Thybulle is a great defender and NAW has potential. Everyone else is fodder. Serviceable, replaceable fodder. So yes, over a 4 year period you might get someone that is serviceable.

Something like 28% of first rounders don’t get 2nd contracts

again, i am not saying that you are looking for your all-star caliber player in the non lottery picks. We've already gotten our two all star players.
The next step is to build around them. I'm not against trading 1sts to get better role players. We did that with JV.
You will never convince me it was wise to trade one to get Graham, even though I like Graham.
and you will never convince me that it's ok for us to go into an offseason without any draft picks, unless we are a deep playoff caliber team at that moment, or we traded the pick at the deadline for someone that we needed. I would almost always choose to trade a 1st for a sure thing over making the pick, especially a non lottery pick. It's stupid that we traded both our 1st round picks for next year already. Trading one was necessary b/c of stupid decisions from last season. Trading the other wasn't necessary, and was just plain stupid.

Aren't our picks that we traded lottery-protected or close to it? So if we aren't a playoff team this season, we likely keep the pick this year and lose it the next season (or it converts to 2 seconds- don't think we know yet).

Man it's lottery protected. It's not as bad as you're making it out to be in your posts.

IT WASN'T NECESSARY, AND UNPRECENDETED IN THIS SCENARIO.
Don't act like non lottery picks don't matter.
It's the fact that no one else has ever had to dole out a 1st round pick for the right to sign a RFA to a $12M/yr deal.

I accidentally put this in a Trey Murphy thread, but why did we not make the bulls wait 72 hours or at least 12 hours to complete the Lonzo deal?
12 hours in it was probably obvious we weren’t going to get any of our targets which makes it more likely that we would’ve just matched Lonzo. Which in turn would’ve forced the Bulls hand to give us higher compensation not to match in the 72nd hour, because they still had other targets and deals to complete that they didn’t want to dry up,
Indefensible by Griffin to agree to that deal at 5:01 before we had guarantees from other free agents and/or trades to work with.
He got freaking pushed around by the Bulls, Lonzo and Klutch on this one.
This free agency period has been absolutely fricking arse, but coming out with a matched Lonzo at a decent price and Graham on a good deal would’ve at least been defensible.
This man Griff is the worst employee in the NBA right now. He always does these cutesy trades for role players that take days to align with league rules and it ultimately fricks us from making other moves.
He’s also a phony arse frick that everyone hates, coaches, agents, our players, players families, and prospective free agents.
We have at least 25 posters on this shitastic board that would be better at building a roster than this thesaurus toting frick face.
He deserved the axe midseason last year. Let’s not waste anymore time on this clown. I’m not sure Langdon is any good either unless Griffin is going rogue and making all the decisions by himself.

Jesus man. I’m as passionate as the next guy but I think you need a break. No need to get this upset over sports.

I’m not even mad. I’m just calling it the way it is. He’s wasted the last 2 years. He couldn’t have done a worse job than if he actually actively tried to do a worse job.

This thread has gone completely off the rails

We would have been better off with the corpse of Tom Benson running the Pels last year instead of Griff ... prove me wrong
Posted on 8/5/21 at 4:44 pm to LosLobos111
I like him as a bench big and occasional starter
Posted on 8/5/21 at 4:46 pm to LosLobos111
Would feel great had he not already signed with the Warriors and had any interest in coming here

If this is Griffin busting his arse to maximize cap space, trade space, and assets
Then you have your answer on why this thread went off the rails. He has our entire organization hanging off of the rails right now and it’s embarrassing.
He could’ve sat around and not made an effort and made the exact same moves this free agency period.
Bowing to Bulls, Zo and Klutch at 5:01 and trading a freaking 1st for a sixth man and yes I like the fricking 6th man and yes his contract is good, but that’s an easy move. A 9 year old that prefers to read books playing 2k for the first time could’ve made those moves.
If this is Griff busting his arse with great cap and trade flexibility, he is really fricking terrible at his job. He did the Memphis trade to have max flexibility and we’ve done absolutely nothing with it. We let Zo walk for nothing. And frick I don’t even like Zo, but bending over for him at 5:01 when you have nothing else up your sleeve is abysmal.
Yeah I’m mad. I love this team. They have talent. They have flexibility. They have assets. Problem is the guy on top has no idea how to piece anything together and create actual togetherness with players, coaches, and families. If we have a bunch of high character guys and a lot of them can’t wait to leave, what does that say about the work environment that culture boi Griff has created so far?

Reggie Jackson is probably the best target in FA left that's realistic right?
