Need to figure out something at back up PF too
Jarred Vanderbilt is an available option I wouldn't mind though he is restricted. Nice energy guy off the bench who's a versatile defender and good rebounder. Has some good handles too. Can't shoot though.

quote:Griff needs to see if he can get Markannen with the Memphis trade or add him to the Bulls S&T. If we can get him on a 2-3 year contract, he could be worth a shot as a backup 4. Griffin boasted about how he was going to improve spacing and shooting. Basically he swapped Ball for Graham. Murphy is not likely to contribute much as a rookie, so did Griffin really do that much to improve shooting?
I think that would mean Charlotte is out on Lauri. I actually like the fit of Oubre in Charlotte.

Griff completely misread the room, thinking we could beat other teams to guys signatures when we realistically couldn't.
Probably blind optimism that caused this. Should have taken more flyers on shooters in the second round of the draft

Not taking Ayo or Butler at 35 was a crime imo. Both of those players could probably give Kira a run for his money right now. Nothing wrong with a little competition…
Herb Jones might have still been there at 43 (one of the picks we sold). If not we could’ve grabbed Sandro, Filip, or Garza as a potential stretch big there.
I know there are limited roster spots, but I still would’ve liked to see us take at least 1 more player considering how deep this draft was.

So Griff turned down Markennan at the trade deadline for Ball, now we’d have to hope the Bulls down match any offer we give him.

Always amazing this time of year to see how few local insiders we actually have covering the Pels
Even the rumor mill is dead

Free agents that are attainable and available. And yes they all happen to be Phoenix Suns.
Etwann Moore. 41% and 43% from 3 the last 2 years he was with the Pels. Cash Floater game. Bonus: Zion LOVES UNCLE E. His numbers were weird this season. 31% from 3. 38% from 0-3 ft. typically he is around 65-68%. 47% 3-10 ft (dat floater baybee) 75% from 10-16 ft (light volume 12-16 fg). 54% 16-23ft. 42.9% on Corner 3’s on respectable volume.
Pels Role- 4th or 5th guard. Legit Spacer. High character as frick. Elite human. Zion’s best friend/mentor on the team. Basically an extension of Willie Green on the court as they’ve had similar playing careers.
Langston Galloway- Despite barely getting any minutes. He still shot 42.4 % from 3 this year. shite at finishing inside 3 ft but 50% 3-10 ft, 50% 10-16ft, and a respectable 41.2% from 16-23. Corner 3 % 42.9% on roughly 42 attempts from the corners.
Pels Role- 4th or 5th guard. Legit spacer. High character as frick. Elite human. And loves New Orleans.
Frank Kaminsky- You might laugh, but he’s a 7 footer that can play 4 or 5 and he actually played some legit minutes in the playoffs and did not look like complete arse every time. Not a deadly shooter but has shot 36% or higher from 3 in the last 3 of 4 years. Finishes in the paint, 3-10, 10-16 and from 3 at respectable levels. The only thing he’s absolutely never been able to do is hit a deep mid range shot. His shot selection is solid though, so that’s a non issue. 50% on the corner 3 ball last year on 43 attempts.
Pels Role- 4th or 5th big. Stretch Big. Big body to eat some minutes and fouls in games Jax decides to foul 4 times in 3 minutes. High character as frick. Elite Human.
None of these 3 guys are saviors, but they are quality depth that aren’t necessarily good enough to take away minutes from our younger players. All 3 can stand in the corner and shoot the ball. All 3 can be mentors to younger players at a low price tag. All 3 can play well enough to win you games when there is foul or injury trouble. All 3 can play off of Zion and/or BI.

Free agent Kelly Oubre Jr. has agreed to a two-year, $26M-plus deal with the Charlotte Hornets, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium.
Thought he would have gotten more
Posted on 8/5/21 at 11:28 pm to duyp
Hornets just paid Kelly Oubre more annually than what Graham got. The career 32.6% 3 point shooter.

Kaminsky re-signed with the Suns

Damn I thought Oubre would fit nice with the Pels and I think we could have gotten him. Not sure if Griff reached out. Its a shame as I think he would have flourished on this team for some reason.
Posted on 8/5/21 at 11:51 pm to irvchilichill1
I’m not that disappointed re: Oubre. He’s not a smart player. There’s a reason he will be on his fourth team in five years.
Posted on 8/6/21 at 12:39 am to Mulkey Man
Sigh. Well. I guess Millsap and Lauri could still be higher level targets. Maybe some trade targets out there as well.
I’m just to the point where if we strike out on the quality guys. Get some guys in here that can at least shoot the ball, so when they do play, the spacing isn’t the disaster it was last year.

I know that I should know this, but does this mean by 12 noon tomorrow all the free agents need to be signed or just trades?
Pretty sure it's just trades.
