You have a better chance of getting struck by lightning than the Mavs and Spurs to land at one and two.

Sure was. Pels gave up superstars and got the 1 pick for it. Kinda like Dallas.

Why can’t ownership and management effectively run a franchise? We need commissioner intervention to be successful?

Back to being a mavs fan.

You know how many people would have to be in on to be rigged? I believe it's a 1/50 shot.

I dunno.. Charlotte, Detroit, Orlando, Washington, Utah.. they've been in the lottery for a decade and still aren't anywhere near being considered a title contender

The whole "this is all rigged" theory is ridiculous. At least for this year.

You wanna believe that the league wanted Luka in Los Angeles so they told Nico, "don't worry, if you trade Luka to LA, we will rig the lottery for you to get Flagg."

If Kyrie hadn't gotten injured, the Mavs would have made the playoffs and wouldn't have even been eligible for the lottery.

Oh it is way more impossible than that

The statistical probability that the result would be:

1) Dallas
2) San Antonio
3) Philadelphia

0.0119%

vs 48.1% chance Pelicans get a top 4 pick

89.7% chance we get a top 6 pick

No f'n way. You can run that scenario thru Tankathon all day and it will never hit.

It is by far the most improbable outcome in NBA draft lotto history. So improbable that it is nearly impossible.

Someone from the league needs to have a open discussion about the checks and balances on the lottery because this is looking like a thumb is on the scale.

NFL has not lottery. How is it lumped in with this amateurishly run league. The NHL is gonna surpass this joke of a league.

So was it rigged when the Pels got Zion?
Yep. Lebron wanted AD in LA, so the league promised the Pels #1 if they would send AD to the Lakers market where Lebron wanted him.

Yes, once as a favor to get Benson to bail out the NBA and purchase the Hornets and the other as incentive to trade AD to the LA market. Are you paying attention? That is how this corrupt league works.

I know. Dallas had a one percent chance to get number one. You have a better chance of getting eaten by a shark than the top 3 hitting like it did.

possibly... likely... dunno...

it's just awfully fishy that a team with 1.8% chance, after losing their franchise player via trade, gets the #1 pick that same year.... a little too convenient, IMO

So the NBA rigs lottery drawings, NFL just rigs playoff games. Which is less bullshite?

from my PA days i remember the NBA being a client of the firm and the draft lottery being audited and signed off on by the firm for adherence to internal policy and process protocol. take that for what you will, but they do technically have "supervision". that's not to say this is probably rigged.

Do you feel like a winner because you got Zion?

Lets imagine for a second the lotto is rigged? You've got this man child with the god given talent of a superhero but he is more interested in Japanese cartoons and strippers his Mom's age. What do you do with him?

Give him to the Knicks and trust he will get to NYC with a billion dollars and mature quickly?

Or incubate him in a small market until he grows up a little and then force a trade when he learns to act like a man?

You make a good point for it being rigged. We got Davis when the Pelicans/Hornets were about to be sent to another city, and we got Zion after losing Davis.

I'd say it is definitely rigged.

Hell yeah! Not sure you understand how numbers work. If a honest man does the NBA lottery balls 100 times, 1% chance means mathematically out of those 100x’s you get the Mavs ball only once!

BUT, if a cheater does it on the first time, they get the Mavs ball!

And if we had won, nobody here would say it’s rigged but the Mavs board would say how” can the Pels hit the Moneyball 3 times in 11 years? It’s rigged!”
