You can always count on people walking out of a Dylan show.
I walked out of his Jazz Fest set about 15 years ago. Couldn’t figure out what songs he would be singing until they were almost over. He was trying to be too artsy by changing them up to where they were unrecognizable. He’s been mentioned often in this thread. Dude just sucks live.

Bob Dylan at municipal auditorium in Shreveport.
If you are talking about last year I agree 100%!!!
I can say I saw him but I can’t say I understood him.

Most of my bad concert experiences are either me or one of my friends getting way too fricked up.
I seemed to mostly know my limits, even in my younger days. My worst experiences involve a friend or girlfriend getting way too fricked up and having to spend the whole concert babysitting them. Lost a friend over it after the 4th or 5th time he indulged too much and ruined my time. The final straw was at a Widespread Panic show in Nashville in 96 or 97. I forget everything he ingested but beer, whiskey, blow, and weed were all involved. He nearly got into 2 fights at setbreak just being a douche, then got into a brawl with 3 guys after the show. I stood there and let him get his arse whipped(they knew how messed up he was and didn't rough him up too much) and almost left him there. Dropped him off at his apartment when we got back to Tuscaloosa, and never spoke to him again.

David Allan Coe in fort worth at Billy Bob's circa 1995. Drunker than anything I've seen.

I was there for that. And a couple more at least and now I forget which ones were which. But I do seem to remember that one was incomprehensible. Ive seen him 4 times at Jazz Fest. The first one was pretty straight forward rock and roll and so was his Thibidoux show where he did some acoustic too. Also a show in the late 90's at UNO was straight forward and awesome.
But he will pull some bizarro stuff out of his arse pretty often.

I went to see Blue Oyster Cult at an old theater arena in Dallas.
The Stage was lower than the crowd........sort of a pit........couldnt see anything.

RATT ca. 1987-8.
Date cancelled 3 hours before the show. Got a bud from across the street to go with me. He had friends there with some primo ganja. So we all go up to the top row of the Centroplex (River Center)and burn a few. I got RIPPED. When RATT finally came out, all I could hear was the bass player’s voice. It was terrible. I couldn’t tell what fricking song they were singing I couldn’t feel my feet or my face either.
Oh, and that time I saw Depeche Mode in NOLA and the lead singer OD’d backstage, so the encore was a ballad. Good times. Good times.

ZZ Top - Recycler Tour
Motherfrickers were playing along to tracks so they could do all the stupid shite like spinning their guitars that they did in their videos.
I have not listened to anything by them since that day and never will again. They can rot in hell!!!

I see I’m not the only one whose answer is Bob Dylan.
The show was fine because I still got to see Willie Nelson and Mellencamp, but Dylan as the headliner disappointed me.

If you read anything about Dylan, the main problem is that he actually TRIES to frick up live performances by faking out the backing band. He never rehearses and never has a set list. He changes arrangements on the fly and likes to play songs in the wrong tempo and often the wrong key. Changes the lyrics constantly which makes it even more difficult if the band is keying the arrangements on a vocal cue. And he actually gets pissed off and fires people if they can't telepathically shadow him on his little moth flights.
It's gotta be terrifying to do that in front of big crowds all the time.

Dylan at Audubon Zoo 1986ish. It could have been any one of you in a sombrero and I would not have known the difference.
I was at that show. It was strange to say the least.
And some dickwad smashed one of my car windows during the show.

My old man grew up listening to Dylan from Day One. The man is his musical hero. I sent him to see Dylan at the Saenger a couple years ago since it would likely be his last chance to see his hero live. He had to struggle to find good things to say about the show. He was disappointed to say the least. So was I. Should have sent him to Brennan’s or Commanders Palace.

Saw Ozzy Osborne in Atlanta in the mid 90's. fricking horrible. The volume was so loud and distorted, it was almost impossible to enjoy. You could not even recognize it

Red Jumpsuit Apparatus at the Varsity, probably 5 years ago. The singer’s voice was shot, and the crowd wasn’t into it at all. We oeft only halfway through the set. At least the tickets were only like $10.

Bruce Hornsby at Beale Street Music Festival.
The only reason I started out staying was because we were right up front. Thirty minutes in I had to bail. Missed out on seeing 90% of a legend's show (Little Richard) too. A double shame because he had a full brass section and were rocking it hard.

When I was a kid went to see Styx during their Mr. Roboto tour at the BJCC. It was so laughably bad people were streaming out of the place.

Damn, hate to hear that man. Seeing him in NO in 2001, I believe is my favorite concert.

I saw pieces of eight at Hirsch and they were great. A few years later they came to Tech touring for Mr Roboto and I didn’t even bother. Shitty tour and album. Damn shame Dennis DeYoung lost his damn mind.

My worst was U2 in Dallas. Played at Jerry World and the sound was atrocious. Stadiums can be shitty sounding but this was really bad.
Houston Toyota center (arena) was great and super dome was great. May just be the acoustics at Jerry World.
