Travelin' Band..
To this day I still don't know if it's....
Playing in a travelin band
or
Pay a little travelin band
You can find it both ways on line.

“Oh, the candles can do miracles. Just you wait and see”
Looking at chords and lyrics today and realized it’s canvas, not candles. Been singing it wrong for 30 years.

I thought for quite a long time that the lyric in Africa by Toto was: "As sure as Kilimanjaro rises like an Empress above the Serengeti"
The actual line is: "As sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti"
I think my version is actually better. The real line essentially says "just like one mountain rises like another mountain over but over the desert".

Probably over half of Led Zepplins 10 Years Gone. I just listened to it on YouTube a couple weeks ago with the lyrics strolling and I was surprised at how much of it I had wrong

Funny I stumbled across this thread.
That has always been my favorite Zeppelin song.

Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” always comes to mind when someone mentions misheard lyrics.

I always thought the lyrics were something like that and wasn’t until years later I realized it was dirty deeds done dirt cheap.
The other was Blinded By The Light…wrapped up like a douche something something in the night…lol! Never knew they were really revved up like a deuce another runner in the night.

Very understandable from the Manfred Mann version. It’s like they intentionally used that pronunciation even though the actual Springsteen lyrics are as you wrote

Blinded by the light, wrapped up like a douche in the middle of the night.

quote:Exactly. Because their douche of a lead singer felt the need to put the SHH sound in the word deuce. Wrapped up like a deuce, revved up like a deuce, whatever. But when you say DOOSH for no reason then you are a douche. The lyrics are stupid enough as is.

Percy, the correct words for Elton John’s Rocket Man is “burning up his fuse up here alone” not fuel.

My wife thought Boys of Summer was Poison Summer until she was about 25.

As a kid in the 80s, I misheard "Voices Carry" as "It's so scary."

Mine is the Enter Sandman chorus, "It's the light! It's the night!". I just figured he was excited for all 24 hours
