Cage the Elephant’s first album was really really good. It was raw, angry, angsty, fun, and gritty. None of their later albums captured the same feel. Their newer stuff isn’t terrible, but it’s a lot blander and more subdued.

Hate on U2 all you want, but along with The Cure, they brought post-punk to the forefront of rock music in the 1980s.
