Lonely Day by System of a Down
In addition to uminaginative boring music and obnoxious nasal vocals... maybe the worst lyrics outside of a childrens' song.

Such a lonely day
And it's mine
The most loneliest day of my life
Such a lonely day
Should be banned
It's a day that I can't stand
The most loneliest day of my life
The most loneliest day of my life

all-time classics of 1980s pop music
It’s good to know. I thought it was vulgar vapid treacle. All time classics evidently takes in more territory than formerly. If Escape is a classic then Afternoon Delight must be an anthem.
However, in fairness, credit for the Pina Colada craze is well warranted.
What do I know anyway? I think Richard Harris’s version of Jimmy Webb’s McArthur Park flirts with immortality.

Whatever the worst song is, its definitely BroCountry.
I nominate Cruise - Georgia Florida Line.
They probably have worse songs, but I love Myself enough not to do that research

It held the No. 1 position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for ten consecutive weeks in 1977 and topped Record World magazine's Top 100 Singles Chart for a record 13 weeks.
Also, it's so easy to think of much worse songs. Like, My Humps

Stan Ridgway – "Camouflage" Never heard of this song in America, but it was popular in Germany in the late 80's.
Terry Jacks - "Seasons in the Sun"
Paper Lace - "Billy Don't Be A Hero"
I regret having these songs in my memory bank...

McArthur Park
I've actually come to be a fan of the song, more for the comedy of how many people thought they could cover it.
You can literally type in MacAurthur Park + any genre and get a hit.

Honey, by Bobby Goldsboro.
See the tree, how big it's grown
But friend it hasn't been too long
It wasn't big
I laughed at her and she got mad,
The first day that she planted it
Was just a twig
Then the first snow came and she ran out
To brush the snow away
So it wouldn't die
Came runnin' in all excited,
Slipped and almost hurt herself
And I laughed till I cried
She was always young at heart,
Kinda dumb and kinda smart
And I loved her so
And I surprised her with a puppy
Kept me up all Christmas Eve two years ago
And it would sure embarrass her
When I came in from workin' late
'Cause I would know
That she'd been sittin' there and cryin'
Over some sad and silly late, late show
And honey, I miss you and I'm bein' good
And I'd love to be with you if only I could
She wrecked the car and she was sad
And so afraid that I'd be mad
But what the heck
Though I pretended hard to be
Guess you could say she saw through me
And hugged my neck
I came home unexpectedly
And caught her cryin' needlessly
In the middle of a day
And it was in the early spring
When flowers bloom and robins sing
She went away
And honey, I miss you and I'm bein' good
And I'd love to be with you if only I could
One day while I was not at home
While she was there and all alone
The angels came
Now all I have is memories of honey
And I wake up nights and call her name
Now my life's an empty stage
Where honey lived and honey played
And love grew up
And a small cloud passes overhead
And cries down on the flower bed
That honey loved
And see the tree how big it's grown
But friend it hasn't been too long
It wasn't big
And I laughed at her and she got mad
The first day that she planted it,

Not a good song for sure. Bobby had a few that could qualify. “Watching Scotty Grow” is another memorable one.

Worst song ever???? Hell no!!

Completely forgot about Watching Scotty Grow. I see that Mac Davis wrote it. I thought he was better than that!
