Critics hated Black Sabbath and Grand Funk, and the first Led Zep album was trashed by just about every rock writer. Unlike
Nickelback though, these three bands were slagged for being moronic (Sabbath), untalented (GF) and pandering to teenage boys' libidos (Led Zep). Nothing about them being generic doochebags, however, like Nickelback.

Kansas has got to be in the discussion somewhere.

Good point. All bands named after geographic locations: Kansas, Chicago, Boston, Asia, Europe, Nazareth...

Agree. And Boston only became a shite band after their first album, but then I guess you could say the same about Kansas.

I like Boston, didn't know people were thrashing them so bad around here

People on this board only like artists who sound completely unique and never change or grow in popularity but experiment and stay fresh while not deviating from their roots or reaching the main stream that get success through underground venues as long as they never play bigger venues and if any of their music ends up on the radio you can just forget it

I always maintained these two were actually the same band.

They were absolutely amazing for exactly one album. Then everything they did sounded the same. And there's nothing wrong with liking shitty bands. I like lots of shitty bands.

Boston was the band that came to mind when I opened this thread. Corporate rock at it's finest.

Can you please elaborate on this? I know shite about The Eagles, but I always think of them as a band I don't like.
Give me reasons why they killed rock n roll so I can argue with the farts that like them.

sorry you guys refuse to acknowledge the complete and utter suckage that was GnR
Just for this I'm tuning up every GNR album I have on iTunes and playing them on a shuffle loop in my office today in your honor. Eff this.

Good for you, man. Smash something when "Garden of Eden" comes on.

60s - the Monkees. Record label created bands at its worst. Ugh.

It's always great to leave the board for a day, and the same people who were butthurt the day before, are still butthurt. Tigerdroppings is fantastic sometimes

I wouldn't agree with the second bit (which is pure hyperbole), but they definitely mailed it in a lot of times.
