I rarely go to shows at venues bigger than 500 people. Some of those places have VIP seating but I prefer to stand. I have been forced to sit at certain venues and it always sucks, I feel disconnected from the band when I am just sitting there like a geezer in a retirement home.

Agree 100%, and based on some of your posts I’ve seen you’re actually damn near being a geezer yourself, just like me.

The only time I get seats is when that's the only option. It tends to be bands with older fanbases so that's not too surprising. I usually don't enjoy seats but I sat front row center on the balcony for Puscifer last time they came through and it was the best seat in the house.

Can confirm. I bought ex-wife almost $2k worth of tickets to the Crue/Poison show in Texas, to be told she couldn't find anyone to go with her after the show started while on the way to a hunting camp. I took over a $1k loss. Edit: (She didn't go at all, two tickets wasted.)

But on seating, I try to go for Club levels. It cuts the amount of people that can get to the bathrooms closest to you. It seems to make things easier. Also, sat front row at the 3rd base dugout for GnR, and couldn't see shite unless it was on the screen. Your view is more important than being close. Although, the hot chicks do tend to be walking around at floor level. But the semi-hot women/MILFs you can actually sleep with are not on the floor.

Only time I bought VIP the show was cancelled and it wasn’t much of a VIP setup. GA always for rock festivals (better view than VIP). Standing room GA if you get there early enough to be up front.

I don’t mind sitting if it’s an opening band I’ve never heard of. I usually go for the aisle seat so I can come and go to the bathroom and vendor.

I’m in Grand Rapids for work and watching prices on Seat Geek for the floor for Pantera and Lamb Of God on the 20th. Lowest price recently was just over $300 after fees. Figured I’d let prices fall a bit and hopefully get one around $250. Well the $300+ tickets apparently got bought and now the cheapest one is just over $400. frick! Gonna have to drop for me to go but I may have to be willing to pay over $300 now

Jax,

As I type this Ticketmaster pit tickets are Verified Resale only at $280. If you want to be on the floor and it doesn’t have to be Pit, first row is $189.50 and 4th row aisle seat is $149.50. Take the floor seat boss, the stage will be elevated for a good view.

Yo Pisco!! Yeah man I had also checked Ticketmaster some time back and saw that they were very comparable to Seat Geek. Was planning to check again soon. So your post prompted me to go ahead and check again and they were at $240 before fees. So it’s official, I snatched one up! In the pit for $289, which I’m fine with. Thanks for prompting me.

It has to be Pit. It’s goofy I know, but it’s hard for me to even enjoy it if I’m not reasonably close to the stage. I lived in the pit back in the day and I still like to be down close to it, and in an area where there’s some good jostling going on. At 58 though I’d have to be pretty damn drunk to take a spin through the pit. It does still happen occasionally.

Thanks for those floor seat pricing tidbits as well though.

Seated but close to the stage. Aisle seats bc I drink a lot and piss a lot. Most of the bands I like are dead or at least have dead members so I don’t see a lot of concerts

Aisle seats. Balcony if a rock type show where people will want to stand. The folks on the floor up front will stand all night, but the tendency to stand fades further back and upstairs.

Will sit on floor level for less rambunctious shows where folks are likely to stay seated. My back is too old to stand on concrete all night.

It depends on the band. For a really upbeat or heavy band, I want floor tickets to get close to the stage or in a pit. For a more chill act, I want the cheapest tickets that come with a chair and an unobstructed view.

I bought black Crowes tickets in Irving at an amphitheater I’ve never been to. I bought mid range reserved as opposed to GA lawn but def got aisle seats

Ahh it was last night in Grand Rapids. I’m up here for work. It was SO damn good.

Lamb of God is playing Daily’s though on their summer tour coming up with Mastodon. I’m aftaid the timing is bad for me though and I won’t be able to attend.
