I'm not sure I'd catagorize this a church hymn or spiritual. Inspirational might be more apt.

Softly and Tenderly (Jesus is Calling)
My Great-grandfather contributed to the music and arrangement but declined to be credited.

Just As I Am--Another hymn with a great story about how it was written.
I'm surprised this one hasn't been mentioned yet.

There's really quite a few but I think I'd Rather Have Jesus is my favorite. This version is by Jason Crabb.

That's my favorite gospel song but lt me add my favorite spiritual

How Great Thou ARt by Carrie Underwood and Vince Gill is the ultimate for me. Recorded live on stage at a country music awards show a number of years back.

My Dad would randomly just start singing that one sometimes.
No apparent reason, not loud or trying to draw attention, just one of his favorites. Just A Closer Walk With Thee is another one he would randomly start singing.
Man I miss my Dad....

For the Glory of it All

Basically, anything David Crowder sings.

The Blessing

My latest favorite.

I have about 50 more favorites.

Another good one

Jesus Paid It All.

My dad died when I was 9. I'm 60 and I still miss him, makes me sad that my kids never got to meet that wonderful man. Named my youngest son after him. He didn't really listen to or sing any spirituals or traditional church songs that I recall, but he is where I got my love for Otis Redding.

Apologies for getting off topic, just missing my dad right about now.

No apology should be needed.
I’m nearly 70 and I remember my Dad and wish I could have a talk with him.

I’ll see him, Mom, my sister, and daughter again on that glorious resurrection day. Sooner probably than later.

Anyway, here’s to your Dad!
A little old school Otis.
