Imo there really isn’t any song (spiritual or otherwise) better than Amazing Grace. And the story behind it just makes it that much better.

Long story short he used to be in the Royal Navy but switched over and worked on a slave trading ship for a while. While en route his ship got caught up in a violent storm and he converted and cried out to God to save him and he penned this as the result.
