I got dragged to see Tool in 2001 in Seattle and didn't want to go because I thought they were a metal band. Still one of the top three best concerts I've ever seen.

Saw them twice on the Lateralus tour....Both shows were incredible. I tell people all the time, If you haven't seen them live regardless if you like their music, you should go to a show.

I've never been a big fan, but I plan on seeing them live.

It is an experience for sure. Must see at least once. You will enjoy
Seen them twice during the 10,000 Days touring in 2007.
The BR show sucked.
The NOLA show more than made up for it!
www.toolnavy.com good message board for all things TOOL.

Seen them 3x. First two bad arse. Most recent was uno I guess in 2010 it was different. The song selection and music was better but the lights and visuals didn't seem as good. Could have just been the venue tho.
Regardless if they play Houston or Dallas I'll make the trip. It's getting harder and harder to travel to concerts since my little girl was born

Guess you missed the last tour

They opened with Hooker With a Penis the last show we caught in Dallas. (Ticks and Leeches in the mix as well!)
I've seen every show they've done in B.R. and N.O. since Voodoo Fest in 02. They haven't played it at any of those shows. The only thing they played out of the usual was Flood the last time they came through Baton Rouge.
It's just not going to be feasible for me to travel to TX to see 'em.

So you've seen them 3 times? 2 of which were the same tour and you are complaining about them playing the same shite when they were really touring for the same album
Not trying to be a dick, just saying
2007 when they did BR and NO
2010 when they did UNO Lakefront (Btw, they played 3rd eye at this one)

I call BS on the Ticks and Leeches. They haven't played that in a decade. Maynard said he couldn't talk for a week after the last time they played it live.

They are on my short list of acts I really want to see live.
They tour so infrequently and I never seem to be paying attention when they get close. I think I went to ticketmaster or stubhub when they played UNO, but by the time I got there, it was sold out.

I love Tool but haven't seen them live. I have however seen A perfect circle. Is it close?

I'd say no. The caliber of music is similar, but the shows are miles apart. I think Tool shows are the closest thing my generation has to a big Pink Floyd stage show.

I disagree... The composition of Tool as compared to APC is completely different. What Danny, Adam, and Justin do is amazing. There are tons of fans fed up with Maynards BS, in regards to making Tool his step child, that would love an jam album from the band.
As far as shows go, I completely agree. The APC show is if you want to get pumped, see shite happening on stage, etc.... Whereas Tool is more laid back, take in the whole experience.
If you want to see a band that puts on a fricking incredible live show that is sensory orgasmic, check out a Rammstein show... Holy shite

If their "hype guy" Blair is to be believed, this album is supposed to be more along the lines of Aenima and Lateralus.
So basically more of the same? 10K days felt like a watered down version of Aenima and Lateralus. Of course that's my opinion, but I don't see the creativity in 10K days that I did in the previous 2.

I say similar in the sense that Tool and APC are still in my very upper echelon of music. Tool has way more depth and variety. APC has proven that band members are interchangeable. That wouldn't be nearly so easy with Tool. (I would say impossible but Paul D'Amour would say differently)

I think 10k days was creative, but def a step away from Lat/Aenima.

I saw them in Houston last year... Was fricking incredible. The whole show is absolutely amazing and LOUD. So much pyro, I cant imagine how they get fire marshal permits.

I've heard Rammstein is banned from Louisiana. Before last year they hadn't toured the US in over 10 years. I saw them in 1998, it was alright. Better than any recent Tool show for sure.
