Yes. I decided to edit because its not cool to hate on bands that others obviously like.
Let's hear your criticism of tool. Come on with it.

I just don't think it sounds good, that's all. I'm not going to hate on them though.

I never could get into Tool either.
Some of my friends really like them though, so I went to a show to see if maybe their live performance could win me over. Still couldn't get into it. It didn't help that one of my friends (who was the biggest Tool fan out of the group) couldn't handle himself on the shrooms that we had ingested.

They have a good light show. That's about all I got out of seeing them.

but they're a jam band!
all kidding aside, they aren't for everyone. it's "artsy" hard rock.
I think undertow and aenima are two of the best rock albums ever made.
i'm not really into a lot of the tool material post aenima. but their live show is pretty awesome.

Radiohead is one of my favorite bands, and fit the same genre.

not really. radiohead isn't "hard rock"
tool's roots are based in punk rock and metal

Radiohead has plenty of songs that qualify has hard rock
Posted on 1/25/14 at 1:34 pm to HeadyBrosevelt
eh, that's really a big stretch.
radiohead never had the attitude of a band like tool, nor the balls.

No, it's not

Thom Yorke and Maynard James Keenan share similar pretentious attitudes.
Not sure what you mean by the balls comment, but Radiohead had the ingenuity to successfully experiment beyond the boundaries of alternative rock. They took big risks and that takes fortitude.

I don't think you quite understand what tool is about, or their history...
but tool is an art metal band at their core, radiohead is certainly not.
two very different origins. that's all i'm saying.

Both bands are at the forefront of 'art rock.' They are certainly comparable. There is no need to break it down to microscopic sub-genres.
Posted on 1/25/14 at 2:24 pm to HeadyBrosevelt
I can agree with that. both are at the top of their respective games for what they're doing right now artistically.

Same here... I remember the big buzz from Opiate and I didnt mind it when my buddy played it, but their sound was always just too creepy for me... same with all of that cats other projects...

I've read that this song os too hard on his voice to do it constantly on tour.

This is complete nonsense.
And TOOL and Radiohead are my 2 favorite band. Other than they are both bands that play music, there is almost nothing similar about them.

To say that Radiohead has no balls is laughable. They've changed their sound more often than not. Tool...not so much.
