I gotta say every time I venture into this board I feel like I'm stepping into a time machine with the artists/bands that are referenced. By no means am I hating! I rather enjoy listening to the recommendations you music buffs suggest and implement them into my own playlists from time to time.

Just seems like I'm reading a lot of posts that indicate most of the music board posters are members in their 40s and 50s????

That seems about right. I feel like the youngest dude on this board by quite a bit, and I’m 30.

Seems like there’ll a group of boomer posters and a group of x-ers that were in college during the early-mid 90’s.

The guys that remember The Warehouse are 65+

Well, those that can still remember haha.

I have some recollection of Emerson Lake & Palmer and Boz Scaggs.

35 here. Been listening to music all my life of all kinds. Been a lot of good recommendations from people you can tell know their music.

I was listening to a Dark Star by the Dead and it went jazz for several minutes. It’s all in their music, but it was like they just effortlessly at once went into a jazz jam and then came back.

So now I’m listening to John Coltrane and Miles Davis. The musicianship is unreal.

42. Always looking for new music. My dad’s the same way. He’s in his 70s and will randomly play me a song (on his guitar) and say stuff like “have you heard this song by the band Pinegrove?”

Dark Star doesn’t go jazz. It’s a legitimate jazz tune. The bass anchors the beat, not like the drums as in a rock song. The drums in Dark Star just add color.

Yes, mid 50's here.
The late 60's through 80's are my favorite rock eras. Also like MMJ and White Stripes and lots of Black Keys stuff.
I keep up with some of the newer alternative music; it's hard to find good newer stuff.

I've listened to a lot more classical in recent years. And sometimes I have to cue up Kind of Blue or Blue Train to experience some of Miles and Coltrane's greatness.

Will be 70 on Friday. Lots of great memories from the concerts I've seen. Classic rock, old country, Americana, Texas Red Dirt music are my primary interests but I also enjoy classical and some jazz.

54, still actively seek out new rock/metal/indie stuff. Seems harder and harder to find, especially over the last ten years.
