Not under the table and dreaming, but I'd definitely put before these crowded streets in a top 5. Don't care how much you hate on dmb, that album was so well recorded its sick.

That Buddy Holly song is a pretty fricking annoying tune. Sorry, but maybe I just couldn't take these guys seriously. Catchy pop rock tunes I suppose.

An argument can definitely be made. Certainly, many 90s alt-rock fans would say so.
I find myself listening to Pinkerton more as I enjoy the rawness and unpredictability of it, but I think the debut works better as an album and is more accessible.
Both albums are easy entries into any top 20 list of rock albums of the 90s, if not top 10.

I actually think Crash is a better album than both. I prefer Lillywhite Sessions/Busted Stuff material over the Crowded Street songs. Can't argue with the production value and musicianship shown on that one though.
That's a pretty stout string of albums. DMB's first three records beat out a lot of other bands first three for sure.

I would say false..
Now I could probably get on board if we were strictly talking bands/albums that broke out with the "alternative label" on a major label... They were by far one of the better commercially successful bands of that era..

It's good, but it's not in the same league as a couple of Nirvana albums, BloodSugarSexMagik, a couple of Pavement Albums, 10, August and Everything After, Dookie, or Rage Against The Machine.

True. Any comparison to anything DMB is an insult to the blue album masterpiece.
