Probably my favorite SP in the last 10 years. I think it is really well done. I can’t vouch for the video though.

I’m not one to normally use the term “cringe”, but that video is easily the most cringe worthy thing I’ve seen in quite some time.

The song is pretty good.

That’s not SP dude, just let it go.
It died around 2000 or so, don’t fall for Billy’s cringe-worthy attempts at trying to keep the name relevant. I used to have hope too, but it’s gone. Forever.

I'm not sure why, but for some reason that reminded me of this. Did not like.

It was always Billy, even though Jimmy is the most talented musician in that band.

And James was actually involved, so I'm not going to hate. You can't blame Billy for keeping Darcy away.

I say this as someone who has mocked Billy Corgan for 20 years. He is arrogant and pretentious, but he was always the center of SP.

Saw them tour a couple years ago after James returned. One of the best shows I’ve been to. I have no hope for good new music though, under the name SP. I wish billy would just do some acoustic solo stuff.

I should have clarified, I was referring to getting excited about good new music. I would still go see them in a heartbeat. I play those old albums a ton still to this day. The amount of material they were writing at their peak was unreal.

On another note, where’s the goddam Machina reissue already??

Huge fan of the band here. I dig the new song, I have no clue what he's doing with the weird dress/make-up look.

Just go rock out and leave the attempt to be a Bowie type character alone.

I like it. I hate arena shows but may go see them with Jane's Addiction.

The song really isn’t much to get excited about. The main riff is fine but there’s nothing else noteworthy about it to me.

I hope a lot of folks do like it though because I’m always down for the Pumpkins having a little momentum as a band. Favorite band of the 90s by far.

Was at the Metro show last night. They were awesome and they had another new song called Empiries that was really good live.

Yes to the first part, but no to the second. Billy is a genuine musical phenom. I don't remember the details, but he won a reward in Chicago as a kid for the best pianist in the State (or something to that extent... again it's been a while so the details are hazy). Whatever it was, it was highly prestigious recognition.

James is a good balance to Billy, but Billy is truly a musical genius. Also the dude has been an interesting person in all the right ways over the last few decades. He went off the deep end in the late 90s, but he resolved and humbled himself later in life.

Still, Jimmy is a better drummer than Billy is a guitarist, pianist, bass player or singer.

Now as a multi-instumentalist, he can do more but as far as talent for an instrument goes, Jimmy is a more talented drummer than people realize. I actually like billy and the SP first 3 albums.

Eta

And the B sides to the Zero single.

I'm not a big fan of the guitar tone tbh, comes off as trying to be beefy but its just not, maybe it was just EQ'd and mixed that way..but, either way.

I always thought Jimmy was recognized as one of the best drummers of his era. He’s phenomenal.

I remember feeling let down about Darcy when I found out Billy played almost all her bass parts on the albums going back to Gish IIRC. It was on one of those breaking the band docs. Don’t know if it was 100% accurate but it would explain some of the toxic relationships that developed in the band.
