A lot of metaphorical spiritual references. The songs speak deep truths. It's about more than just the music
In ancient times...
Hundreds of years before the dawn of history
Lived a strange race of people... the Druids

No one knows who they were or what they were doing
But their legacy remains
Hewn into the living rock... Of Stonehenge

Stonehenge! Where the demons dwell
Where the banshees live and they do live well
Stonehenge! Where a man's a man
And the children dance to the Pipes of Pan

Hey!

Stonehenge! 'Tis a magic place
Where the moon doth rise with a dragon's face
Stonehenge! Where the virgins lie
And the prayers of devils fill the midnight sky

And you my love, won't you take my hand?
We'll go back in time to that mystic land
Where the dew drops cry and the cats meow
I will take you there, I will show you how

Oh!

And oh how they danced
The little children of Stonehenge
Beneath the haunted moon
For fear that daybreak might come too soon

And where are they now?
The little children of Stonehenge
And what would they say to us?
If we were here... tonight

What nobody has mentioned is that Rush had the GOAT drummer. Neil Peart is probably the most talented drummer to ever grace a stage and a recording studio.

Or that Peart also wrote the lyrics to most of their songs, not very typical for a drummer.

To make it easy, these are the only Rush songs not written by Neil Peart,

Best I Can: Written by Geddy
In The End: Written by Geddy
Lessons: Written by Alex
Tears: Written by Geddy
Cinderella Man: Written by Geddy
Closer To The Heart: Written by Peter Talbot
Different Strings: Written by Geddy
Tom Sawyer: Written by Pye Dubois
Chemistry: Written by Geddy and Alex
Force Ten: Written by Pye Dubois
Between Sun and Moon: Written by Pye Dubois

Test For Echo

Dog Years, Totem, and Virtuality are just embarrassing. It makes me sad that at any point they thought that was good and worthy of being recorded. Makes the Roll The Bones rap look like a good idea.

Geddy Lee rapping is the reason Rush took so long to get into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Some things take longer to forgive

I can't find any reason to like them. But I love about every song off every album.

Here's me every time I hear this song

The Trees is one of the best political songs I've ever heard.

The title cut featured a surprise for fans, a "rap" section, performed by Lee, who had his voice electronically altered.

RUSH was my generation's Radiohead.

Those who were into them, were *really* into them and made sure you knew how superior they were to other bands. These were also the guys playing D&D or video games instead of going out on a Friday night.

I know right? 3 musicians who are considered masters of their individual instruments. Songs with great melodic hooks and lyrics all powered by one of the greatest drummers to ever pick up a pair of sticks.

Listen , Villa Strangiato , The Trees , Red Barchetta are nice and all, but personally If it doesn’t come with a fedora, skinny jeans, a painfully ironic beard, a four chord maximum and lyrics that contain the name “ Sadie “ in them, you are going to lose a big chunk of this generation.

I feel the same about Grace Under Pressure. I'll admit there is nothing on it that is Tom Sawyer, Red Barchetta, or Limelight level but every song on it is B+ to A- territory.

I'm finding a lot of the younger folks really dig Rush. They don't know the deeper cuts but like the pop friendly stuff.
