DAMN!!
Only got to see them once, when License to Ill first came out and they opened for RUN DMC. Still remember that show...it was awesome! Had girls dancing in cages on stage the whole time!

If you made a rubric for best pop band ever using criteria like critical acclaim, influence, commercial success, longevity, and creativity... the Beastie Boys are arguably the second greatest American rock band, behind only REM.
And Paul's Boutique might be the greatest album in hip hop.
A true legend who kept turning out great music his entire career. He'll be missed.

If there was a band that I could say I literally grew up with, it was the Beasties. And MCA was my favorite one. Hell of a bass player - could play that upright! R.I.P. Adam
