Springsteen is a yankee fig who hates amurica. So he out. Out of the other two I'll take Segar over Johnny Cougar in a tight race.

1. BS - If you walked into a show not knowing any of his New Jersey music you'd leave pumped up like being in a rave. Just short of crowd surfing a mosh pit good.

2. BS - Not quite as powerful as above, but you'd still leave the show all pumped up. It just wouldn't stay with you as long.

3. And that melon guy a to your ears. . . . Unless you caught him early on before the name change from Cougar, and the hey look at me, I'm a rock star too.

Springsteen.. even though I'm not sure I'd consider him "Heartland," but I get it... Far superior to the other two!

JCM had some okay tunes...

I can't think of one Seger song I like.. In fact, his music is a station changer..

Seger

Mellencamp

Springsteen

(Agree Petty would be #1 if included)

This isn't the poliboard, but all three of the guys are lefties. Petty, too, but at least he isn't a yankee.

Maybe he's got me fooled, or I wasn't paying close enough attention, but Seger always had me thinking he's conservative.

As much as I've always LOVED Cougar's music, I knew he was a loony lefty. Even still, I really enjoy watching his interviews when he does one. He's a pretty fascinating guy to listen to in those settings.

Springsteen is the most prolific. He gets a lot of hate for being SUPER liberal. Most artists are.

That said I think Seger has held up the best. I know when I hear one of his songs I leave the radio alone. Springsteen only a couple songs stop me. Seger only ONE song gets changed "Old Time Rock and Roll" played to death and Tom Cruise tighty whiteys pop into my brain which is unsettling.
