Offered tix to Dead & Co at the sphere… is it worth it if I can’t stand the music?

Genuine question. In Vegas and was offered tix to the show tonight by a work contact.
I don’t like the music at all, but is the sphere show amazing enough to make it worth it?
I was planning to watch March Madness at a sports book, for the record.

Go and report back to us.

I’ll probably check it out just for the venue and leave after an hour or so
The show will go on forever and you can’t really tell the difference in songs so it won’t matter

Imagine being gifted $500 tickets to see this for the first time!!!
Hopefully, you just kicked back and appreciated the greatness that is DeadCo at the Sphere. Knowing the audio is 100 times greater in person...this is the magic as Mayer solo at the end of this 1st set closing Sugaree is top-shelf Dead music.

OP got dosed and is currently selling veggie burritos and ice cold Sammy Smiths on Disco Biscuits tour.
See you on the front range, brah.

Free ticket, I would consider going just because. And I can't stand the Dead. But also, if John Mayer is playing with them I would definitely go.

one can only hope the OP attended his first show with an open mind and got on the bus last night

Thought I posted a reply last night, but I guess I didn’t.
I went, it was a blast. We went in a literal bus and pre-gamed on the way.
The show starts off like a stadium-sized Soarin’ ride that takes you from the streets of San Francisco to the trippiest parts of the galaxy. You feel like you are moving, and they add wind for effect.
The sound is off the charts, and each seat is equipped with a rumble pack to complete the immersion.
The amount of computing power to render the graphics both inside and outside must be unreal, I need to watch the YT video about it. The resolution is so high, it’s not digital…it’s analog, it looks real. They can manipulate images to appear 3D and dimensional, such as a disco ball that seems to be levitating above the band.
Mayer is legit, he freaking shreds. The band has a great time and only took a brief break during the FOUR HOUR concert.
Some of the cooler stuff is when they turn the sphere into a giant cube, plastered with posters and tickets from their shows.
After your trip thru the cosmos and to various real and trippy destinations, you are taken back to front door of where they started, with Jerry Garcia’s voice telling you why they play music, accompanied by a ton of old photos mixed in with live video of the band playing as part of the scrapbook. It was really neat.
I’d definitely see another show here, but not that dead. I’d even see another dead show if it was 2 hours… I was exhausted and the stench of weed actually gave me a headache.
Also, if you suffer from inner ear issues or vertigo, this show could seriously make you ill. Be advised, I don’t think my wife could have taken it… spinning rides make her sick.

So glad you went. Sounds incredible. My son went to see them at the Sphere last year and raved about it.
It’s pretty difficult to truly dislike the Dead, but I get how a lot folks aren’t into the long, freestyle jams.

So glad you got to enjoy the full experience. That was a great set last night too. I posted the song Sugaree from that show earlier . Mayer was on fire again.

There’s a poster here that still thinks isbell is a better guitarist than Mayer
