Is this a joke? Not only is Paul McCartney not #1, but he didn't even make the list? It doesn't get more preposterous than that.

Rivers Cuomo should be on here, and high.

Nile Rogers, Jay z, Taylor Swift, Missy Elliot, Young Thug and Baby Face, Bad Bunny, Mariah Carey, Outcast, Kendrick Lamar are listed, but Paul McCartney isn't.

...and yes, McCartney has had his primary residence in Arizona for over 50 years.

I feel like David Allan Coe should be on there somewhere.

Love him or hate him, he wrote some damn good songs. Plus thousands that weren't so good.

ETA: I barely squeezed this one in. Reports are that DAC passed away today.

And here is the problem with lists like this... 50% of the people on here don't write their own songs.

Kendrick Lamar for example, writing credits for "Not Like Us"

Songwriters: Kendrick Lamar, Dijon McFarlane (Mustard), Mark Anthony Spears (Sounwave), Sean Momberger,

If Bob Dylan or Jimmy Webb aren't at the top of that list, it was written by idiots.
Jimmy Webb isn't even on there. I haven't heard about him dying or anything.

+1000

Eric Clapton went from #2 to number 41 because he came out as conservative and against vax mandates.

Lol. These female pop artists use the same writers.

Someone can write the entire song, she change one word and now shes a song writer.

We should give it to the folks who are writing all the top 20 songs. Its usually not the singer.

Jack Antonoff is one. Writes for her, lana del rey, sabrina carpenter, lorde, florence and the machine.

Max Martin writes for Britney, ariana grande, the weekend, katy perry.

Not a fan of her, but I believe she does write a shite ton of her stuff solo.... I know her last album was co-written with someone else, but before that, was a majority of her own work.

Now compare that to the pop shite you see today, I think I saw somewhere that shite song pink pony club that was all the rage had like 11 co-writers on it.

They get credit if they change a word.

Jack Antonoff writes all these people's crappy songs so to put hacks like Taylor Swift on here and not him shows how superficially stupid most of the list is.
