Worth reading the whole thing

She was a challenge, and she couldn’t be boxed up, and she had the courage to speak when everyone else stayed safely silent. She was harassed simply for being herself. Her eyes finally closed in search of a soul she could call her own. As always, the lamestreamers miss the ringing point, and with unlocked jaws they return to the insultingly stupid ‘icon’ and ‘legend’ when last week words far more cruel and dismissive would have done

She was a one hit wonder. Not sure why she’s so revered.

She cut several very cool tracks, actually. Eg, A Drink Before the War

I take no joy in anyone's death. She was a very talented singer and I hate it for her, her family and friends that things went this way. Mental illness is an ugly thing and those who haven't experienced it directly don't understand how quickly it can twist and destroy someone.
I don't have as much sympathy for how many received Sinead's artistic life. She made the focal point of her art attacking others and their beliefs. She may have had a good point in doing so to some extent, but you also alienate many of those you expect to support you. Morrissey is guilty of that as well, and I'm a fan of his music. Sneering and jabbing at people, no matter how eloquently, makes you as many enemies as fans. If you want to go on live television and rip up the Pope's picture, many will cheer you on. And many of those will just as quickly forget you and your music exist. Those you piss off, however, will never forget.

The Lion and The Cobra was a popular album and had a few good tunes.

at the time, she was on an island totally exposed. What we know now is, that she was right
and we’ve known she was right for 20 years. What morrisey is saying is that she had to die for her to finally be acknowledged as having been right

Without her stunt on SNL, she would be nothing more than a remote trivia subject today.
Just another emotionally disturbed person fans worshipped instead of wishing she would get help.

Tomorrow the fawning fops flip back to their online shitposts and their cosy Cancer Culture and their moral superiority and their obituaries of parroted vomit … all of which will catch you lying on days like today … when Sinead doesn’t need your sterile slop.”

She had a smash number one hit…..then followed it up with a song that rose to #60 on the charts. And never charted another single.

The backlash over the SNL appearance killed all that.

She was a freak who only got attention because of how she looked.
She had one relevant song that was written by Prince.

No one has talked about Sinead O Connor in ages and all of a sudden all I read is she’s a legend. She is lauded for criticizing the pope but then converts to Islam where they throw acid on girls for going to school and not a peep. We all know why…

Her biggest and only hit was written by Prince.

Did you know Herman Johnson was the biggest baby ever born in Louisiana?

That’s an incredible song. The whole album is good. She was similar to Kate bush imo. She wasn’t some one hit wonder as is commonly perceived although she derailed herself.
