Anyone see Metallica on this tour. Two shows in DFW this weekend at Jerry world. Wondering if it’s worth it. I generally depise concerts at large venues especially football stadiums as acoustics always seem off.

I will be there. They always say at Jerry World don't sit anywhere except for the floor or 100 levels or the sound will be inaudible. We got floor tickets for both shows. It's also going to be interesting to see Phil & Rex up on stage in Arlington tomorrow night, the reaction, & what is said. I can't wait.

Going. Hate Jerry and his $100 parking, $6 water, $12 beer, etc. Seems the price to pay anymore so shrug it off and sneak some booze in. Its being filmed so I expect them to be on their A game for these shows. Its a big deal in promoting the rest of the US tour. I'd see these guys now...not sure they are going to do this much longer. Metal is a bit more demanding than somebody like willie nelson playing into his old age ; )

Halford is still going strong at 70. Metallica will be touring for another 10-15 years. I would still see them in their old age.

Seen plenty of footage of this tour and the stage setup looks boring AF

I have a friend flying in from Denver for it. We're meeting up in Poland in '24 for it. Europe is different for metal than the US, to a great degree. The crowds are killer outside the US.

I didn't have much of a problem with the acoustics during a Stones concert a few years ago in Jerry world. However, the fact that they're putting the performance in US movie theaters apparently live, I would not pay to park, stay, etc., in DFW. I did go to one of the first Metallica shows that was zapped to theaters (in San Antonio) more than ten years ago, and it was better than being at the concert, except that you were sitting in movie theater seating.

Still dipping into threads about music or bands you don’t like just to shite on the music or the band. Still a massive cocksucker.

I'm at the airport in Birmingham now about to board. The YouTube videos of the shows so far have sounded great. Hopefully it's the same in person.

They killed it in Houston last night. I’m curious what reaction they’ll get in Dallas.

I'm here. I've never been to an arena concert until the Cure at Smoothie King this past May. This will be the largest venue I've ever listened in, but Mammoth just now sounded pretty good.

well...the sound was complete shite. I literally couldn't tell you what Pantera was playing. It was all bass drum and bass guitar....all you could hear was a beat. Did not hear a single note that Zach played. Openers usually get a sub par mix, but F the sound guy that robbed Pantera of their coming home show in dallas.

Metallica was better and at least you could hear a bit of guitar, but it was still terrible. Considering just going home and not even wasting anymore time in this town. Beer was $15 for a small cup lol...can't even get wasted and pretend to have fun unless you got a few hundred bucks to blow lol. I ain't a poor, but I also ain't a poor cause I dont buy $15 beers.

My conclusion, it was a great show cause I realized these big production shows ain't for me anymore. I'll stick to the small bars and venues with lesser known bands.

The sound was great on the floor. I don’t doubt the sound was bad in the upper levels as the acoustics in that horrible place just aren’t good for concerts.

Pantera tribute destroyed the place. Pits breaking out everywhere. I have to give it to them. Very interesting set list from Metallica. We got Orion & Leper Messiah so I can’t complain.

Had a friend in nosebleed saying it was worst thing he has attended and he goes to concerts weekly for decades. We were 8 rows up off the floor and it was bad.
