Shreveport/Bossier area band American Tragedy. Used to go see them in all around town when I was in high school. I havent listened to them in forever, but im sure I could turn them on and jam out a little bit.

Edit: They're not from Louisiana

The Rhythm Aces (not to be confused with the Amazing Rhythm Aces). In the 1950s and 1960s played frequently at the Swing Club in Sun, Louisiana between Bogalusa and Covington.

American tragedy were absolutely from Louisiana. Adam Dale is now solo and plays rare shows in the BR area.

I had forgotten about them. I thought they were pretty decent. From S'port as I recall?

Never heard of either

The first one is horribly mastered. I can barely make out the rhythm section.

Nice guitar on the second.

Baw if you want to post stuff like this come join me in the garage thread. It's nice having someone else contribute every 2 or 3 years.

I have a CD from them. Parents lived in Addis, so when i saw it I had to give it a try. Not bad.

If you could see what passed for "studios" back then you'd be astounded. Probably no mixer available. Not far removed from recording That Thing You Do in a Church. The Church having better acoustics and equipment however.

24K.

Saw them tons of times in the early 80’s. Drank with them on a few occasions. Pretty cool guys. Excellent cover band and some good originals. The guitar player, Lance ?, was the shits.

Givers out of Lafayette. Saw them 3-4 times because a friend was really into them. They might have had one or two singles register on the indie pop chart

A couple notes about 2 bands mentioned in here :

Black Diamond- guitarist Tim went on to play in Jellyfish, Sheryl Crow for a decade and Noel Gallagher and Flying Birds for 3/4 years. He was an 84 BRHS grad. Great guy .

Func Haus drummer Terence Higgins has played with pretty much everyone- from Dirty Dozen brass band for a long time to Widespread Panic,Ani DiFranco, Black Crows, & Warren Haynes . Check out his YouTube videos. Also a really good dude.
