No. Bobby Amaru from Saliva

He even was on Mike Shinoda's solo project

Hadn't seen that before, not too bad.

At this point, after seeing 75% of that performance yesterday, I'd bet there are a dozen mainstream singers and prob more underground that could do a better job than she did.

Brad delson announced that he will not be touring in this next chapter of the band. But he is still an official member of the band, just in the studio and creation of the live show. Kinda sus imo

But now it makes sense. Earlier this year there were rumors of the reunion with a female vocalist and only 3 of the original members. Mike, Hahn and Phoenix

Very solid, she had to be a nervous wreck.

That's weird about Brad - what is the point

Watched some of the show, have mixed feelings. I liked her more distorted vocals but her cleans and lower register where she's supposed to evoke more emotion was off. Garbled and pitchy. She has potential.

People over on SevenString forum are all worked up because apparently she's a scientologist. Obviously that's stupid but those people need to get a grip.

It's an obviously new era for LP
How long is this era going to last? Reception sure seems tepid

Scientologists don’t believe in psychiatry and mental health treatment. The beloved frontman of the band she’s replacing - who to many is the entire band - committed suicide

People aren’t lacking a grip to find that disgraceful to his memory, and she’s going to get a tidal wave of vitriol for it. This has all the makings of a short reunion

LP was always a bipolar band, Chester and Mike had very different styles.

Mike was always chasing what was popular.

When the band was first trying to sign a record deal, Warner Brothers recommended that Chester ditch Mike.

Chester wrote his own lyrics, and much of the rock sound that was then remixed.

That's a big reason that LP get a lot of hate. The two styles didn't mesh well for a lot of people, of course it meshed well for many people, Hybrid Theory was the biggest selling album of the 2000s.

I doubt the new LP will be worth listening to, not just because this new Female lead won't live up to Chester, but because this is Mike's band now, and he was creative, but was never special unless it was in support of Chester.

Mike will chase new things and whats popular, but they won't have any more mega hits.

Linkin Park w/ Emily Armstrong < Alice In Chains w/William DuVall.

I kind dig her trying to perform Chester’s role in LP but her voice will not be able to hold up. I imagine the new material will have to be tamed quite a bit to allow her to be successful with the band.

The few times I’ve heard her singing on LPs back lol songs she seems to be going 110% and still not quite hitting it. I’m not knocking her for not being able to replace Chester because no one could but IMO her voice isn’t strong enough to handle tour type preforming with LP.

Yeah she can't sing a lot of Chester's high notes as expected. She isn't really going to be able to play his songs, but the new songs they've made I'm sure she's fine on.

I'll still give them a shot, but without Chester it still ain't the same.

It’s just odd bc if you’re going to go for a female singer why not get one that has a stronger voice to get the notes more reliably - Chester was a great vocalist but objectively women can get to those ranges easier yet they pick someone who might not be consistent

I can see Mike trying to chase what is popular. But I remember watching a video back in the day during the recording of The Hunting Party. Chester was not in the early process in the studio due to him recovering from vocal surgery. The first time chester made it to the studio he was shocked how heavy they went in the sound.

Took a few listens but the new song is legit. Need to focus on new material and not trying to essentially cover band the old stuff. Won’t ever measure up.

No knocks on his creativity, he was willing to chase any sound.

Chester was one of those vocal talents though that really drove nu metal.

I'm sure they will continue to tour, and make some money, but I doubt that they release anything that explodes. Heavy was a fantastic song on the last album, I know that it got a lot of hate for moving to a popish sound, but I just don't see anything like Hybrid Theory coming again.

I was preparing to be let down a bit after absolutely loving Emptiness Machine but they're 2 for 2 so far for me. Another banger that's already on repeat.

First time finding this thread and of course a ton of negativity for this. Classic...never change, TD.

“Linkin Park” just announced a stadium headline show with Bad Omens & Helmet at the Rangers ballpark in Arlington on Nov 8. It’s going to be interesting to see attendance for this
