I'm still waiting for you to post one time I was uncivil to you before you were uncivil to me.

If you don't post one time I was uncivil to you before you were uncivil to me that means you can't find one time I was uncivil to you before you were uncivil to me because it never happened.

AI should be removed from artistic endeavors entirely.

Why?

It's a great way for songwriters to hear their words put to music without having to spend a lot of money.

First, you’re not a “songwriter” by plugging in prompts into an AI anymore than I become a “novelist” by telling ChatGPT to write me a novel, or an “artist” by telling it to draw me American Gothic but give the wife huge tits.

Second, you don’t save anything long term. The moment they don’t compete with actual creators, that “cheap” service won’t be anymore.

I am a songwriter when I write all of the lyrics to a song and then put the prompts into AI.

Until they go out of business they are not out of business and they provide a service to the public.

If you do have a picture drawn of your wife with big cans, when can we see it? Lol. Jk

Staying on topic, I agree with you. He's not a songwriter.

My brother Bill may not be a professional songwriter because he doesn't write songs for an income, however, all of the songs that he wrote the lyrics to which we had AI compose the music for he has composed his own music for and can play it on his guitar.

So your justification is to not hire real artists because they're not starving YET?

...

If he can write his own music and PLAY his own music, then why use AI?

Because he doesn't have a female voice to sing lead vocals, have an orchestra to play along with him, have numerous instruments play in his songs, have a chorus, etc.

AI is trash. Learn how to create the music yourself. Maybe spend the effort you've wasted in this thread trying to defend this horseshite on actually bettering yourself and learning an instrument.

You are arguing with an autistic troll who has opted to pollute this board with his mindless drivel.

My brother has learned how to play the guitar. He's been playing the guitar for over 65 years. He has also spent a lot of time studying Music Theory. No matter how hard he tries he could never make his songs sound as full as AI can by adding instruments, vocalists, etc.

I personally am not interested in being a musician or learning how to play a musical instrument.

Telling my brother that he shouldn't be able to use AI is like telling an artist that they shouldn't be able to use an opaque projector to enlarge, project, and trace photographs, sketches and drawings directly onto a working surface like a canvas, wall, or paper.

If anyone is a troll it's you.

I asked people to have a civil discussion about AI but instead of doing that you came into this thread just to insult me.

Oh good Lord.

ETA:

Let me write a song right quick. Here are the lyrics:

I saw a sea serpent
Out in the bay
It was hard to see clearly
It was so far away
Some swirls in the water
Just what could it be?
Most likely a porpoise
But it's a serpent to me

Now, I want you to imagine these words set to a jaunty tune - something nautical would be perfect. Add in some syncopated drums, a strummed acoustic guitar, and maybe a piano. Throw in some female backup singers to really flesh it out. The "it's a serpent to me" line can serve as a chorus or refrain - give it a really catchy hook.

My question to you is: am I a songwriter now? The only steps I'm missing to make a finished product are the ones that would be handled by the AI.
