But the machine of big music will push towards the quick, fast, and lucrative music production of AI if it makes them more money. Thus squeezing out the real talent.
I believe people with real talent like Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin will not be squeezed out and will always stand out from AI music.
I guess I am just an eternal optimist.

This was recorded in a room. No auto-tune, no time align, no overdubs. We played the song twice, took the better of the two takes, and mixed/mastered it.

This was made in a studio with some pitch correction, time-alignment, multiple takes, overdubs, etc. However, still no AI, and a bunch of rough footage of idiots in a band being idiots.

Bob, you know I've listened to your stuff when you post it, for at least 10 years. Thank you for being an original and pushing the envelope. I love the guitar and groove on this.

Just my 2 cents.
I think it is fun to listen to an AI cover of a song in a completely different genre.
But to have AI create a song and put it out there for income, I don't like. When this starts to happen, don't you think studios big and small will just start churning out music and throw the actual musicians to the curb? If studios, producers can just make money with streaming and not deal with tours and all that involves, don't you think they would do it.
Humans need to be creative and we enjoy seeing that creativity and talent of other humans. Listening to AI will diminish how we view humans creativity and talent. Humans will stop pursuing that talent and creativity because they won't be able to compete.
We will become talentless, lack creativity, knowledge, perseverance, pursuit of skills, if we continue down this AI path where it can do everything.
We are seeing it in engineering and I don't know what the next couple generations are going to become if we go down this path of AI doing so much on our jobs, music, art, etc.
I'll step off the soap box now.
Never let create anything for you. Use it to remix.. get different feels with different instruments or whatever. Never let it write for you.

Strictly, not a demo as this is the final mix but everything was created in my studio. There are no live musicians this all came from my computer. It was then stemmed and sent to a mixer to put a final polish on it.
One of many many hundreds of pieces.

It sounds like you agree with what portrait artists said about the camera after it was invented.
Those two things are not comparable. It would be like someone taking a picture at a certain location and selling the picture, and then along comes someone that tells AI to create a picture of said place. Then that person said “hey everyone check out my picture that I had AI create” as if that’s some sort of art. If I saw someone selling AI pictures I would think of it as the same way I view AI music.
And painting/sculpture/drawing is a different art form altogether because you’re physically creating the artwork.

I disagree with you. As an artist myself I see the results of the invention of the camera and the invention of AI music as having the same type of result on the artists/musicians affected by each invention.
Below is a pencil drawing I made from a photograph that was of a ballerina performing as the white swan in Swan Lake. Even the black background was done using a glossy black pencil.
If I don't tell people it is a pencil drawing they think it is a photograph which was the effect I was trying to get.
It took me about 15 hours to draw but because it looks so much like the original photograph I would never sell prints of the drawing because people would think it is just a photograph.
My point is there were many portrait artists who could produce a drawing that is as good if not better than what a camera could produce but because it took so long to draw it they had to charge more than what a photographer would charge. As a result, those portrait artist were put out of business by the invention of the camera. That's the same thing the poster I responded to said about what musicians are worried about happening to them as a result of the invention of AI music.

That's incredible drawing. Amazing

I'm not a songwriter. More power to those who are, but I'm interested in learning covers.
I've known guys who tried to be songwriters, one of who claimed to have had "Fly At Night" stolen by Chilliwack. Some have been not just good, but very good, but many have been a pain in the arse wanting you to judge their work forcing you to say something positive when it's not. It's usually a regurgitation of something else or a song that really goes nowhere. Just has the sound of they style they're trying to emulate.
If the idea it to be a real songwriter, great. Go for it. If the idea is to entertain people or provide the music to which others can sing you might as well learn songs they know; the hits.
All of the above doesn't change my mind that AI is a massive cheat and obscures the truly talented.

This is the problem. It can be used by people who can't play the first note on any instrument, to make songs that are actually getting picked up by publishers. They sound polished to an extent that is too expensive to do in a studio. It's frustrating. The really frustrating part is, when it's found out that those songs are really written by AI, nothing further can be done with them. The publishers can't use them. The people that are using AI to write their songs are just clogging the whole damn process up. Wasting everybody's time.
All of my songs are written and recorded by me first. I'm just using suno to polish the demos to give me a fighting chance.
The hope is that the industry will do the right thing and discourage any AI at all and we can get things back on a real level. Until that happens though, I have to do what I can to have a fighting chance. I already have too much time and money in this game to back out.

It sounds like you have no problem with songwriters using SI just someone who isn't a songwriter or a musician.
The songs I posted of my brother's in which he used SI all of the lyrics were written by him and he composed the music which he can also play on his guitar.

For me, music is a person expressing feelings or emotions. Whether it is through lyrics, Melody, rhythm, etc. It can be done individually or a combination of all of these. Also, it can be done by an individual group or band. If any of these are computer generated through AI, then there can be no expression of feeling. Therefore, to me, it is simply noise.

I disagree.
The SI songs my brother and I made express a lot of emotions and feelings.
Did you listen to any of the SI songs I posted?

With all due respect, you did not make a song. AI made a song…..

….. I do think your lyrics are well written!

Is a print of an artist's artwork considered a work of art made by the artist even though a machine reproduced the entire image of the artwork?

Absolutely! Reproduced is the key word, reproduced from the work of a human hand and mind
