Left-leaning Alabama country singer Jason Isbell has made it clear he is invested in Texas politics.
On Monday, after Beto O'Rourke announced his bid for governor against conservative incumbent Greg Abbott, Isbell offered support to the former Democratic congressman and his team.
"If you need a singer for anything, you just call," Isbell replied to O'Rourke's running announcement on Twitter.
The country singer has a history of supporting liberal causes through his music. During the 2020 presidential election, Isbell made good on his promise to record a cover album of songs popularized by Georgia musicians if the state swinged blue, in favor of Joe Biden.
After publicly expressing support for O'Rourke, one fan inquired if fans might get a Texas cover album if Abbott is booted out of office by O'Rourke, to which the singer replied "you know what, hell yes." LINK

What a clown. Hopefully, his wife will at least let him watch her have sex for being such a good little Leftist.

I don't want to make this about politics but
I'd rather if his old bandmate Cedric promised a Mars Volta reunion if Beto wins if we're gonna go with any kind of weird stipulations

The Georgia version was pretty good.
Probably more potential on the Texas one.

He's fell a long way since collard greens, chicken wings and oysters by the pail

I’d chunk it right into the Alabama Pines

If he promised we'd never have to hear his wife again, I might do it

His genre of country has no “o” and no “r” and no “y”.

I have no doubt these two will have sex.

The premise of this offer is so fricking hilarious and weird. Like he thinks the public is crying out so badly for him to record more, that he'll accommodate his needy public so long as they vote the way he tells them to. WHAT A BARGAIN!!!

Dude is a huge blowhard. He was asked to play slide on “Are You Ready For Some Football” and didn’t want in the studio with Hank Jr. I’m sure he had no problem collecting the session check though.
