Hands down. Criminally underrated. Few bands are as polished top to bottom and even fewer with LoG’s depth of quality in composition.

never heard of acid bath until this thread, read up on them
interesting they're from the houma area
such a sad tragedy that happened to that bass guitarist Audie

korn would be considered nu metal
Which falls under the umbrella of heavy metal.

If this is sarcasm then okay whatever. But if you’re actually serious then this is one of the dumbest statements ever posted to this board.

Even more sad that they quit once he passed. They were on track to blow up but said doing it without Audie wasn't worth doing.
You'll probably have to buy the album to listen to them but there are a few songs on soundcloud and a bunch of live on youtube

Down.
May technically be a Supergroup, but would be way up there for me. Ditto for Black Label Society.
Is Tool a "heavy metal" band for this discussion? I don't think so, but if they qualify, they get my vote for #1.
I'm at Lamb of God and Mastodon (probably in that order, and probably behind Down and BLS), otherwise.
I also dig Sevendust.

No one has mentioned The Black Dahlia Murder yet.
Behemoth already mentioned, Dying Fetus already mentioned. SunnO))) possibly though hard to listen to really.

Agree Ace. I saw Down in 95, 02, 06, and 13. Each time a different lineup (Jimmy was not on drums at 2002 show because of an illness). Todd was also gone by 02. Rex was doing one of his last shows in 06. 13 was at HOB and one of Windstein's last gigs. Pat Bruders was on bass and no Rex.
If they do reform and plan to, it really is not a supergroup as much as it was...with Bobby and Pat -- despite both being awesome players.
Supergroup or not, they put on one of the heaviest shows I ever saw. The HOB 2013 show is actually shot professionally and is up on YouTube. They never disappointed. They love the fans and they were never as serious and downright machine-tight as Pantera, but damn they do ya right. COC and EHG and Crowbar and Superjoint and Scour are also great. Not a fan of Phillip Anselmo and the Illegals. That tour needeth end.
