that was my first thought. That was awesome that he called them out.

Some of you guys on here are hilarious. Aww man Green Day wasn't punk enough like you guys are so punk yourself. Who gives a shite? If you like the music, cool. If not, why do you care so much?

I think the main hangup is that modern-day Green Day is pretty much everything they used to stand against.

Now Billie Joe is in rehab and the band is apologizing. Apologize for what? I guess rock bands can't get pissy on stage anymore and smash guitars.

THIS. Especially since they let Rihanna go over her time, and wanted to make sure Usher got all of his.

This is true, but money talks. I always hate when people get all bent out of shape about musicians selling out. They don't play music to make you happy, they play b/c it's what they're good at and they enjoy it. If the opportunity to make loads of cash doing what you love, then I'd be right there with them.

People have to realize they have families too, just because they are rock stars don’t mean they don't have people who depend on them for financial support.

I agree on most of this. I think 99% of the population would do the same damn thing. Green Day has just become a shell of who they were though. They rail against stuff they actually do. That's my problem with them. If you're going to 'sell out' (I hate that term) at least be honest about it. shite the Black Keys have no problem saying they're going to make every dime they can. Green Day just bitches about the stuff they do. They're a walking contradiction......SWIDT?

Which was? I'll admit, I really don't listen to them and don't know too much about them other than the songs you always hear. To me, they've always been pop punk. Then and now. So what's really changed with them? Not just to you but anybody that can answer.

Frankly I'd be pissed to if they cut me off. What a waste of time.

Musically they're the same. The subject matter of their lyrics has gone to straight cheese but other than that you're right, it is the same pop-punk band. They still make fun of guys wearing makeup and getting all dressed up to 'fit into the scene' and what not, but now they're actually DOING it.

Agreed. It was funny that he was acting all "HOLY frick DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?!?!" though. Yes Billie Joe...they know who you are. They also know that you aren't that big of a deal anymore when compared to Rihanna and Usher. I don't agree with cutting them off, I just thought that bit was funny.

Yes, I'd be pissed if I had a band and we were cut off 20 minutes short so little 12 year old girls would tune in.

their set was only supposed to be 30 minutes. they gave him one minute to go at 29 minutes and he went apeshit. not the concerts or promotors fault.

They have not been punk since they left the Gilman St scene. Other bands from there still survive and gain credit and respect (Lagwagon,NOFX,Dogpatch Winos, etc..). Green Day sold out. Those of you that bought into what was their first album (dookie) actually was their fourth. The three before it were better. Dookie was a mass produced piece of trash. I saw them live before Dookie came out and thought they were okay. I saw them on a later tour and walked out of the show. I did think the mudfight at the Pepsi Co Woodstock was funny but if they had true punk roots they never would have played there.

Sorry to bump this but I just read this article about it. I watched the last video on the article of their "performance" and could barely take 4 minutes of it as it was.
