Del Mccroury covering Richard Thompson's Vincent Black Lighting 1952

Not only did it work, they knocked it out of the park
Del McCoury is just so damn good anyway.
"I feel The Blues Moving In" is a kick arse piece of work.

I always wanted to hear them do that song- Ridin With Private Malone. It always seemed to me that song was written for Del McCoury to do.

Hurt by Johnny Cash

This is the first thing that comes to mind for me. When I hear the NIN version now, it doesn't sound right (too slow). That Johnny Cash video might be my favorite video of all time. Went to his museum in Nashville recently and it was worth it

That daughtry cover is really solid.

There’s a Hollywood Undead cover of CCR that has no business being as good as it is.

and once again, it was Duane Alman on guitar and Roger Hawkins on drums, probably David Hood on Bass.

You forgot Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes rendition. It's pretty good.

This is off of Mark Lanegan's cover album Imitations, in which he covers his parents music collection..

Solitaire

It most likely introduced this Neil Sedaka song, made famous by Andy Williams/The Carpenters, to a totally different crowd...

And its Mark fricking Lanegan... so, its brilliant!

What about Smith's (Gayle McCormick, lead singer) 1969 rock version of Hal David/ Burt Bacharach's song "Baby It's You", which had been a pop hit in the early 1960's by both the Shirelles and Beatles.

If you haven't heard it, the Smith version is a treat (can't YouTube it for some reason).
