Always thought The Who wrote Summertime Blues(Live at Leeds) and Alan Jackson covered it 20yrs later but it was originally written/released by Eddie Cochran

Jackson also covered Mercury Blues, which I didn't know at the time was a cover.

Heart and Soul- charted when Huey Lewis recorded it.

Written and first recorded by Exile in 1981- didn’t crack the Billboard top 100

Discovered that 3 years ago when I pulled one of my mom’s vinyls. Exile’s Heart and Soul album.

I don't know about this song, but "Turn, Turn, Turn" (covered by The Byrds) was from the Bible.

I Love Rock 'n' Roll by Joan Jett is a cover tune.

The Arrows wrote it in 1975.

The one I learned just a couple of weeks ago was "Venus" by Shocking Blue.

It was a cover of a song by a folk group that included Mama Cass with rewritten lyrics.

I didn't know until just a few years ago that the Yardbirds did Dazed and Confused before Zepplin did. I probably should have known but I didn't.

I didn't know that until today and feel the same, that I should have.

Then I looked it up and the Yardbirds didn't write it either, it was some guy named Holmes who once worked with Joan Rivers which I found pretty surprising

And it took until 2012 for Page to swallow his pride and give Jake Holmes the credit he deserves.
