Coldplay is underrated

They are not even my style. But they are pretty damn good. They just make really good music and even being someone who is not their biggest fan, I can respect the great music they make. I just felt like it had to be said.

Not really a fan because I find their music to be well made, but bland and lacking energy. I prefer more high energy rock music which they are not. Not a criticism of them so much as not being into the genre. They’re great at what they do.
On the flip side, I find it hilarious that Coldplay became a “cool” band to hate on the internet yet if you look at what groups are popular in the “alt” scene, 4/5 of them sound exactly like Coldplay with just a little more dubstep elements to it. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been hanging out with musicians who go “eww…Coldplay” who then turn around and play their own music that sounds exactly like Coldplay

They were literally on top of the pop charts for 2 years, I dont think they are underrated.

I discovered "Viva la Vida" last year, bought me the cd (yep I still use my cd player), told my wife (no pics), hey this album and song by Coldplay is so awesome. She goes, where have you been the past 14 years? lol

To tie this In with a previous thread, Viva La Vida ripped off a Joe Satriani song note for note and Coldplay was sued over it. Listen at 0:50
