Asking tOT to quantify funk is like asking a blind man which apple is the most red. Us white folks over here clapping on the 1 and 3 in fo fo time. Syncopation is our kryptonite.


That being said:

Superstition is objectively more funky. Why? A clave rhythm played on a Clavinet.

That begs the question did OP ask for the funkiest song of all time or the funkiest between Right Place and Superstition, I took it as the latter.

There is also a difference between the funkiest song and the best funk song. Jame Brown has some claims to the best but nowhere near the funkiest.

The use of the superlative suffix "-est" suggests the former. If he'd been merely talking about those two songs, he would have used the comparative suffix "-er".
