Avett Brothers at that music fest in St. Francisville
I agree it wasn't slammed but I certainly wouldn't call that crowd small by any means...especially considering it was a Sunday night, in BF St. Francisville with the Saints playing a game against the Cowboys.

Three Dog Night at the Ascension Parish 100 year anniversary festival.

Same. OAR at Verizon Alpharetta. They didn't even open up the lawn. Regular seating was maybe 1/4 full and pit was probably 1/2. I'm guessing 700 people. Someone I knew got like 40 free tickets from his work so we said frick it. Shitty concert.

Stevie Ray Vaughan at NLU/Monroe in about '86 on the Soul to Soul tour, after he was very well known and had added Reese Wynans on keyboards.
The crowd was pitifully small. We rolled in from out of town and walked right up to the stage. SRV spent some time sitting on a monitor and playing right in front of us. I literally could have reached out and touched him, he was so close.
We were big fans and wondered how in hell there were so few people there.

Red Jumpsuit Apparatus at the Varsity in Baton Rouge. Not even 1/2 full, maybe 200 people there MAX. Plus, they kinda blew.

Mighty Mighty Bosstones during their 15 minutes of fame at Five Points Music Hall in Birmingham. May have been about 100-150 people there. Show was fricking awesome, however!!!

In 1998, I saw Incubus at the Varsity and there was around 40 people there. The opener was System of a Down.
Great show from both groups and got to drink a few from the guys from SOAD

Queens of the Stone Age @ Workplay Theatre (padded room)in Bham, 2011. There were probably ~300 people there. Easily one of the best rock shows that I've ever been to, but QOTSA always kills it.

Callaghans seats about 40 people. I'm talking large venues with embarrassingly small crowds.
But I did want to go to those shows but they sold out. I saw St. Paul and the Broken Bones there and it was awesome

I saw Isbell at Luckenbach before Southeastern came out and there looked like less than 200 people there. That was an awesome show.

Also caught REM at The Bayou on Chimes Street. It was packed to its 100ish person capacity. This show came on the heels of the Chronic Town EP which WLSU was heavily playing.

Holy shite. Where at? They are one of my all-time favorite groups. I've seen them a few times (including last summer) and they sold out every show.

Blue Oyster Cult at the first day of Rock n Roll.. Superdome early 80's. They were the last act and didn't come on stage till past midnight on a Sunday night Monday morning. Could not have been 500 people left in the dome.

Stephen Stills played a free concert in the Quarter back in the mid-90's as he was part-owner of a new restaurant opening on Iberville/Decatur. Iberville was blocked off, Charmaine Neville opened, and then he came on. If there were 150 folks it was a lot.
First Creole Tomato Fest around the same time--wondering around and saw the Clarence "Frogman" Henry playing. 20 folks maybe? Besides his classic hits he actually opened for the Beatles for much of their 1964 US Tour. Lots of these guys were never appreciated as much in New Orleans as they were nationally or internationally (same with someone like Charmaine Neville).
