Their one good album with “Slither” and “Fall to Pieces” may be the best album of that decade.
Audioslave had a nice little run in the early 2000’s as well with their 3 albums. “Cochise”, “Out of Exile”, “Original Fire”, all good stuff.

Coldplay is arguably the biggest "post 2000" band though they've sort of fallen off as of late. Kings of Leon is another who are pretty damn good at what they do

Look how bad these lists are compared to the 70's and 80's.

Yep, I remember my dad telling me how bad my list was in the 80's.

In my humble opinion it is one of the following:
Ryan Adams (solo or with the Cardinals)
War on Drugs
The Avett Brothers

Personal favorites post 2000: The Black Keys, Tedeschi Trucks Band, railroad earth, Greensky Bluegrass, ifamous stringdusters, moon taxi, and the killers. None of which may be the best but they’re mainstays on various Spotify playlist.

Lucero started in 1998, iirc. I'm going to say them anyway

Its 2018. This topic is a testament to the decline of music. Arcade Fire, Ryan Adams, Interpol...maybe Arctic Monkeys.
