There should be a separate "poppy, fun 90's" rock song category. Songs that weren't art but were very 90's.
Third Eye Blind--Semi-Charmed Life
Hootie--I Go Blind
Semisonic--Closing Time
Eagle Eye Cherry--Save Tonight

I could name dozens of songs that would deserve a mention, but this one is the one I searched for first:
Pere Ubu - I Hear They Smoke The Barbecue

When I think of the type of music that best represents the 90s, it’s really some of the songs you posted and other similar ones more so than early 90s grunge.

Man this is a GREAT 90's song. Good call.
Way too hard to pick one or even 3 though. 90's had some amazing music.

A quick google search tells me Straight to Hell by Drivin and Cryin was released in 1989, but I can't think of another song that played more in the bars around LSU from 1991-1995 when I was there.

Slaves and Bulldozers - Soundgarden
My alltime favorite Soundgarden song.
I’m thinking many of these groups have better songs that weren’t as popular. I’ll stick with what the “theme” of the thread seemed to become right away and submit one that got some good airplay.
Hum — Stars
