quote:... you didn't listen to Dylan for his voice but rather the rarified content of what he sang. Times were different and a lyric like, 'you don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows', would be taken to define a political faction. College courses developed to critique their meaning, meter, and rhyme. And he even garnered a Nobel for Literature along the way.
but I don't see how Geddy gets such a hard time and people like Bob Dylan
Anyone ever listen to Geddy Lee for the beauty of his words?

If that is not pretentiousness, I don’t know what is.

Well, Neil Peart is the primary lyricist......so no.
That said, Peart lyrics >>>> Dylan lyrics.

Nobody’s mentioned that whiny arse Tom Kiefer from Cinderella. I was and still am a huge Hair Metal guy but I could never get into Cinderella because of that garbage voice. Sounds like a bad cat fight.

Lee most certainly has a "unique" sounding voice.

Good call. After all, the poor fricker is just a rat in a cage.

That just makes him fit in well with the rest of the band.
